The wound was also a bit of a call to the book, where Ben got slashed by the werewolf in the house on Neibolt Street.

I thought that Pennywise did a halfway transformation into the werewolf during that scene. Kind of how he also transformed into the Mummy towards the end. I would have loved to see the scene where he tore that kids head off as Frankensteins monster.

Yeah, the one glaring absence in the new film is Henry Bowers and company chasing the kids through the sewers. Given the tone of the movie though, it wouldn't have fit anyway, since it would have distracted from Pennywise mindfucking and dividing the kids as much as he could.

Beyond that, why didn't Victor Criss ever get named in either movie?

He wasnt mentioned by name, but he was definitely in both movies. He was the blonde kid in the new 2017 adaptation.

But everyone that I've seen discussing this subject has said the movie did a better job representing the source material than the mini-series.

That became a blanket statement that people used to describe: "the new one was darker than the miniseries".

It's not an accurate statement. The events are much more accurate in the miniseries.

Dude, no they arent, lol.

Name scenes that are accurate to the book in the new one.

I've got Georgie, and the tape measure down the drain. But that's about it.

Speaking of him, I just finished the part of the book where that group was lighting their farts on fire and Bev was spying on them noticing that Victor was well hung. That whole chapter involving Patrick Hocksetter was pretty great and disturbing.

That was easily one of the better parts of the book. He was so much creepier.

Richie was better portrayed, as were Eddie and the majority of the child cast. The paraffin. Bevs father. The Coke bottle blood tie. Ben/Bill/Beverly love triangle. Betty Ripsom. I could go on. I could also go on about the scenes I wish they had the time to include, such as the standpipe or Mikes demonic bird.

Yeah, I know he was in the films. He was never important enough to name though apparently.

True. To be fair, he wasnt the more pivotal friend in the book so much as Belch was.
