I had Shinobi on SMS. I was stuck for a long time on the 'wall of statues' boss (apparently called Mandara). Eventually I figured it out and was able to beat the game a few times.

Never heard of that last one, but the other two, yeah. Never played Rolling Thunder though, never found any Namco collections down here. :(

Codename: Viper, while published by CAPCOM, was made by the same team as Rolling Thunder (Ark System Works, the makers of Guilty Gear) so it's a sort of off-shoot or gaiden game.

Found out why I never heard of it. A NES game with no PAL release.

Also had Dick Tracy, or at least the board, it was a Japanese copy that had broken casing.

Codename Viper has the most platforming of the lot, and even then - mostly on the first levels.

I also had that (NES), and if I recall I I beat it exactly once. it was actually pretty good, and is probably an underrated game, though I played it decades ago so it's hard to say.

hmmmm. Rambo (NES) is like that

I want to say Chuck Rock and Joe and Mac 1 and 2 (and Congo's Caper) but they probably have more jumping than you're looking for.
