I had Shinobi on SMS. I was stuck for a long time on the 'wall of statues' boss (apparently called Mandara). Eventually I figured it out and was able to beat the game a few times.
the other two I've never heard of --- The truth basks in scrutiny. http://i.imgur.com/GMouTGs.jpg http://projecteuler.net/profile/Sahuagin.png ... Copied to Clipboard!

Let's include Dick Tracy... basically, these are NON-PLATFORMER shooters. While you can jump, it's not typically for traversing the terrain. There's some, but not much
Contrast games like Megaman or Contra, which feature a lot of platforming on top of their shooting --- "Salt cures Everything!" My YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/Nirakolov/videos ... Copied to Clipboard!

Never heard of that last one, but the other two, yeah. Never played Rolling Thunder though, never found any Namco collections down here. :(

Never heard of that last one Codename: Viper, while published by CAPCOM, was made by the same team as Rolling Thunder (Ark System Works, the makers of Guilty Gear) so it's a sort of off-shoot or gaiden game. --- "Salt cures Everything!" Found out why I never heard of it. A NES game with no PAL release.
Also had Dick Tracy, or at least the board, it was a Japanese copy that had broken casing. --- I'm not lazy, I just don't care http://backloggery.com/DeltaBladeXNZ ... Copied to Clipboard!

Why a topic about these random obscure games? It's the connecting thread between them - they share the same gameplay, and is a style done by no others. --- "Salt cures Everything!" My YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/Nirakolov/videos ... Copied to Clipboard!

This seems like fake news Codename Viper has the most platforming of the lot, and even then - mostly on the first levels. --- "Salt cures Everything!" My YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/Nirakolov/videos ... Copied to Clipboard!

Let's include Dick Tracy... I also had that (NES), and if I recall I I beat it exactly once. it was actually pretty good, and is probably an underrated game, though I played it decades ago so it's hard to say. --- The truth basks in scrutiny. http://i.imgur.com/GMouTGs.jpg http://projecteuler.net/profile/Sahuagin.png ... Rambo (NES) is like that I want to say Chuck Rock and Joe and Mac 1 and 2 (and Congo's Caper) but they probably have more jumping than you're looking for. --- The truth basks in scrutiny. http://i.imgur.com/GMouTGs.jpg http://projecteuler.net/profile/Sahuagin.png ...
