Current Events > I think i found a error in American Psycho *spoilers, opening chapter*

Reading this book again and in the first paragraph the author says one of the characters wants a taxi driver to turn up the radio. The narrator first says "Be My Baby" is on the radio, a few paragraphs later, the narrator says The Crystals are still blaring on the radio.

And so right now i opened up spotify to play this song in the background before i continue reading (feels appropriate to me!) and i see that there is no version by The Crystals. Looked on google. The song was popularised by The Ronettes.

I typed be my baby american psycho into google and didnt see discussion anywhere on this error.

Do you think the publisher will give me some kind of proofreading reward?

Theres also a passage early on where he talks about his speaker set up, and how great it is. When hes talking to one of Courtneys friends, he makes a point of thinking how shitty, how cheap, the other guys speakers are in comparison to his own.

Theyre the same speakers.

I like to think of these little tidbits as Easter eggs that really speak to how vapid and unreliable he is

a lot of his character is hes full of shit and rarely has any idea what he is talking about. possible its intentional.

(also: american psycho is the one book that fucked me up for life, and i have a pretty strong tolerance for disgusting stuff)
