Not if it's the result of medication, old anti-psychotics and even anti-depressants have nasty weight gain side effects.

Its definitely easier for some people to gain weight faster than others, but at the end of the day, pretty much anyone could lose weight or gain muscle or whatever. If someone is okay with being fat or skinny or whatever though, more power to them, no one has to change their lifestyle if they don't want to.

I feel like part of it for a lot of people is using food as a coping mechanism in response to their emotions, similar to a drug/alcohol addiction. Yes, those things are each a person's fault, but there are lots of services designed to help people get rid of drug addiction by using better coping mechanisms, etc. but less services designed to help people with emotional eating/their weight/etc. I feel like it should be looked at in a similar way to drug addiction.

It makes sense as long as people are ashamed by it, glorification of obesity is the truly dark thing, nothing normal about it and likely a strain on everyone around them. Very selfish. Are you saying that glorifiers of obese (like 600+ pound people) are strains on everyone, or that all obese people are a strain? I could argue against the latter even though it's true that old obese people (and I'm sure some young ones) put a strain on health insurance premiums, etc. ... Copied to Clipboard!
