Some people wants family of their own, some just srent attracted to trans, and while depend on the context and your reaction these can be categorized as transphobic, there is a lot of ways that people dont find them attractive and politely turn them off. It is still hurt, any form of rejection generally hurt, but some things hurt more than the other. Being honest in advance really can mitigate total heartbreak from both side, in some unfortunate case, can turn violent. But it is really ok to have an opinion.
