Keep in God's word and in prayer, bro. We need all the strength we can get. I feel like marriage will never happen for me either. I'm pushing 29 and I've never had a girlfriend. The thought of dying alone without any family or kids of my own scares me. This is what is weighing on me the most. I have no desire to go drinking, partying, etc. But I really do want someone to share life with. I go everywhere and do most everything alone. It seems like it's equally difficult to find a girl in church as it is outside of church. There are certainly better, more spiritual, and eligible, single men than I and I'm not exactly someone a girl would choose over them. I have to keep pushing myself to get myself and my life together but there are times when everything seems hopeless and I get stuck in a rut.

I do know that if I do end up alone that at least I can put my hope in God. Even if in this life I live in loneliness, it will not compare to the glory and joy to be with God in Heaven.

I'm 34 and never had one. It's looking less and less likely every day. I'm almost certainly going to end up alone, and it's tearing me up inside.

Even worse, the pastor of my church has recently taken up telling about how much he used to sleep around when he was younger. That he needed to learn to control that aspect of his life once he got married. I mean sure, I don't think he was a Christian back then, but it's irritating knowing that he used to live that way and apparently got around a lot. Then I can't even make a friend, let alone friend a romantic partner. It just amps up my insecurities and makes me want a gf even more.

It's karmic justice for how Christians have made gay people feel for generations. :v Now the really strict Christians get to look like the wackos.

I live by the rule "judge not, lest ye be judged." and "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."
I don't care if someone is gay, that's between them and God. I'll treat them like any other person, we're all sinners and none of us are better than the others.

At first I was ready to jump into this thread and be like "Yeah it's tough since even being a non-preachy Christian, friends and family whom are biased against any form of religion tend to make you feel like shit."

Then I read the OP and saw it was dumb nitpicking bullshit about not drinking and realized TC is the kind of Christian that makes people like me unable to be taken seriously. Sooo...

As a satanist living in a very Christian area, I can completely relate TC.

I recognize that this post sounds like a joke but its really not. I guess the only advice I can really offer is to let your beliefs be a part of you, but never let them solely define you as a person.

You can still go out and have fun without compromising your beliefs fam.

Not the person you're addressing, but marriage was ordained by God to be between a man and a woman (Matthew 19:4-5) so you'd better believe I would vote against such a measure if it was placed before me. Which it has fortunately/unfortunately never been.

Everywhere I go, I'm the guy that doesn't fit in. People talk about drinking, going to clubs, having sex, and when they find out that I don't do any of that stuff, I'm pretty much the freak. I've had several opportunities to be with girls who aren't Christian but never pursued them because we have conflicting beliefs. Even some girls who said they were Christian are okay with sex before marriage which is something that the Bible clearly speaks against.

I feel like I don't belong in this world.

Just part of the Christian struggle my man. Stay strong.

At times like these you need to shift your focus away from yourself and what you want and towards living and serving Christ.

Galatians 2:20 - I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.

If, God forbid, you get hit by Truck-kun and die tomorrow, you will have to account to God for how you spent your life, whether you were married or not. It's not easy, but you should live your life in light of that. And along the way who knows who/what God will bring into your life?

Psalm 37:4 - Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Matthew 6:33 - But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Psalm 84:11 - For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly.

These are promises God Himself has made. The question is, do you believe Him?

Lastly, here are some Christian resources on singleness that you might like to listen to: https://illbehonest.com/topic/singleness Mason Vann's "Marriage and Gods Will For Young People" really struck a chord with me.

Hang in there!

Thanks, man. This was very encouraging. You're right that I should be more concerned about how I'm living for Christ instead of my own wants and needs.

So every human that had children before marriage was a thing commited a sin and went to hell?

Homophobia needs to die out and relegion needs to move out of the 12th century. Love thy neighbur unless they are different and do unto others as you would do to your self so I guess you shouldn't be getting married either then.

If a sinner dies unrepentant then they go to hell. Something tells me you don't know much about Christianity. In any case, God instituted marriage in the Garden of Eden with Adam and Eve so there were no humans before then. And in the years since, virtually every society has followed marriage as a convention - between a man and a woman, I might add. It's the God-given awareness within us of the right order of things (Romans 1, 2).

You're welcome. I'm not saying your feelings don't matter or that you're wrong to feel lonely. I'm just sharing a perspective that takes me out of myself when I'm tempted to feel self-pity. "He must become greater; I must become less," as John the Baptist said. Spending more time in His Word and in His service is always profitable use of time.
