Americans have a habit of being culturally insecure and so cling to symbology and empty platitudes that reinforce their insular world view. Not that I agree everywhere else particularly cares for their people

America could half the amount of money it spends on military a year, still be spending the most on military in the world, and put nearly 300 billion into other things like universal healthcare.

Well I was going to say $100 per year but everybody needs that money for something useless and materialistic stuff. There would be riots in the streets if people have to pay for slightly more taxes

American government is like the heroine addict parents who are just harming themselves and there's no supervision so basically the kids get to do whatever they want and up hooked on drugs or setting themselves on fire with matches or whatever.

Other governments are like the hardcore anal parents that are always watching what you do online so that you don't talk to strangers and they'll ground you if you stay out past midnight and Americans don't like that because "muh freedomz". But then they always give you money for good grades and eventually the kids go to college and become successful.

Imagine going to the doctors for free or having free surgery and staying in the hospital rooms for free. Youll might have to pay for the food though.
