Check out Deggit's post for an interesting timeline, the second post on the page. This suggests Donald tried to get rid of Mueller in his first or second week on the job.

You can also see some links there where news sources in June were close to how serious the situation was, but they couldn't quite put the pieces together unil now -- Donald's friend Ruddy said Donald considered getting rid of Mueller, Donald loses his patience with McGahn over the Russia investigation, that sort of thing.

Old but fun since we're talking Hannity. Just found this:

10/9/2018
MEDIA MATTERS - Study: Hannity?s treatment of Trump's Russia scandal takes an authoritarian turn

In Sean Hannity?s 61 Fox News opening monologues from May 15 through September 1:

Hannity suggested Trump did not collude with Russia in 31 of his monologues, 51 percent of the total.

Hannity called for Mueller?s investigation to be terminated in seven monologues, 11 percent of the total. He called it a ?witch hunt? 19 times.

Hannity claimed that Hillary Clinton is the candidate who actually colluded with Russia in 25 monologues, 41 percent of the total.

Hannity has regularly called for investigations into the perceived crimes of Clinton (25 monologues), Comey (17 monologues), and Mueller (seven monologues), among others.

Hannity?s top guest over the term of the study was Jay Sekulow, one of Trump?s personal lawyers for the Russia probe, who appeared in 37 episodes of the program.

"Caesar" was a title used by many Roman emperors (and survived even into the 20th century as czar/kaiser), including Tiberius Caesar Augustus, who reigned for pretty much the entire period Jesus was active.

I think it's kinda interesting that when people say "Caesar" we tend to think of Julius. Blame Shakespeare.

My impression of it is that if one does not preclude "Caesar" with an article, then you are referring to Julius, and not a subsequent ruler. "The Caesar" would be dependent upon adjacent contexts, whereas "Caesar" would refer to the one who the term descended from to begin with.

I'm much better versed in old testament, so i wasn't aware that Jesus ever directly referred to the Roman emperor. I guess that's kind of silly of me though. So we can infer, then, that the tweet from the previous page is referring to Augustus.

It really doesn't matter and is nitpicky. I just thought it was odd. Thanks for the info, all.

yup. Someone can correct me on this part if they'd like, but I believe immediately before he asks who is on the coin, the reply is Caesar, and that is the catalyst for Christ telling him to render to Caesar what is his, because he was on it.

Tax collectors are around, Jesus views a coin with "Caesar" 's face on it and remarks "Render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's".

Now which Caesar had their face on the coin is widely debated, but also not really relevant.

Also, both Emperors Tiberius and Augustus are also mentioned in the gospels by name.

I dunno that I agree with that! It's at least as much a homage to Augustus, who was the one who actually became emperor of Rome and ruled for decades, pretty much establishing the Roman Empire. It became a title because it was the family name of the first five emperors.

In an alternate reality where Marc Anthony becomes the first emperor of Rome instead, there's no way the name Caesar catches on as a title.

Augustus specifically called himself "Imperator Caesar" because of Julius. It wasn't his own name. >_>

Right, but what I mean is that the reasoning for dropping/changing his own name and emphasizing "Caesar" was to play up the political power of the name itself.

He kept dropping more and more of the rest to just emphasize "Caesar."

Yes, but he basically used it as one.

Like, Neo's saying it's in homage to Augustus just as much, but Augustus himself was basically already going "Caesar means something, I'll just go by that." He used it because it was important moreso than he made it important.

From my understanding, they're not so much friends as allies of convenience. Trump reportedly holds grudges against him due to perceived slights from years ago. Don't forget, he fashions himself as a sort of mob boss.

https://poll.qu.edu/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2516

Question #16 is the role model q. Lots of other things in there, including the direct relationship between age and response to that question (older people are more likely to say yes, he is a good role model). Similarly, looking at q #14, it's been pretty consistently low 60s percent of people that think trump provides moral leadership, since August (see trend below question). There's been little shift in the last 5 months, so the gop is doing a great job weathering all their self-made moral crises.

Looking like the Taliban is claiming the Kabul attack.

I saw this on the BBC and thought you should see it:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-42843897

A suicide bombing has killed at least 95 people and injured 158 others in the centre of Afghanistan's capital, Kabul, officials say.

Attackers drove an ambulance laden with explosives past a police checkpoint in a secure zone, home to government offices and foreign embassies.

[...]

The Taliban have said they carried out the attack, the deadliest for months.
