multiplayer experience seems pretty silly.

The only gameplay in the game is 2d fighting against other players. Just didn't seem worth the price tag without more content or features in the game.

It looks like a shallow experience. Don't get me wrong, it looks like a fun shallow experience, but still too shallow for a full price game.

It doesn't look like it's gonna be anything more than cutscene + fight the fight sort of thing similar to 1 player on street fighter games.

I mean...that's primarily what fighting games are. Big multiplayer component, but fairly solid single player content including a story and 1v1 exhibition/arcade.

I'm debating buying it.

I like DBZ and I like 2d fighters, and I like that the game is simple and casual enough for me to do all the moves without having to spend 5 hours in training mode per character.

I wonder if the online community will hold up on PC.

I went ahead and bought it.

Not really a fan of the price tag but I'm a DBZ fan and Iike 2d fighters, and this one seems to be easy enough for me to actually play competitively.

Remember, people used to spend that much on fighting games with local multiplayer only. At least now with online you always have somebody to fight.

Yeah, I'm just hoping the community will hold up for more than a few months on PC. I figure it probably will, since you don't really need that many active players to find matches on a game like this.

Wait, theres no local 2 player for that game at all?

I would assume there is but I honestly didn't check since I will never play it locally with anyone.

Oh, I guess he was confused by 'essentially online-only' thing I said in the OP.

it's definitely not just online only. The depth of the story mode surprised me. No its not just play fight then cutscene, there's a grid based world system where you move and fight enemies and bosses while leveling up and getting equipment for your fighters. It's a lot more deep than I expected.

Yeah I've put a bit of time into the story mode and I didn't expect it to actually have a bit of depth. Plus the writing can be amusing even the story itself isn't anything special.
