Life isn't harder for black people.

Life is harder for inner city poor people that are growing up in violent places with shit schools and little wealth, which is disproportionately populated by black people.

I don't come from the city, and the black people from my area grew up just like everybody else did.

"The only real color that matters is green!"

Lmao fuck outta here.

Yeah, thats true. A rich black kid has it a lot easier than a poor white kid.

If you want to talk in generalities, yeah, black people have it harder simply because as a whole black families are poorer than white families. But taken on an individual basis then it really just boils down to socioeconomic status.

As a black man who grew up in Newark, this. I got hassled a lot when I moved to a white neighborhood for no reason though

it is and not a matter of opinion.
you can accept or deny reality.

Eh, something as vague as "life is harder" can be interpreted in different ways. Especially since its a generalization, so neither a simple yes or no is 100% correct.

Ok. Frankly, you're not equipped to understand, so I can understand why you feel that way.

How does him being white invalidate what he said or mean that he couldn't understand?

People are individuals, so no generalization is gonna be 100% correct, especially when we're talking about a race since that's so many people we're talking about. You know, unless its something there's no arguing with like "all black people are black people". And since the question itself of "do they have it harder" was pretty vague, there's more room for people to disagree and both sides can be right to an extent.

I just don't think "black people have it harder than white people" or "black people don't have it harder than white people" are specific or clear enough to call either 100% correct. Both can be correct and incorrect in different ways.

Black people don't have it any harder than white people.

Being poor makes life harder than if you don't make a comfortable wage.

Black on black crime, yada yada. That's just violence and crime in poor neighborhoods.

Nearly every single example of black vs white and who has it harder/easier isn't race related but based on class and income.

Also this.

"Y'all have it good! Affirmative action, obamaphones, subsidized housing, welfare!"

"Would you like to switch"?

....

So if you're secure with your life that means you're racist?

I don't think many people period want to switch races.

You'd be hard pressed to find a white person in America willing to swap races with a minority. Reason being is the fact that minorities are seen differently by the majority, even if all other factors are equal.

I don't think this is true.

I mean most women would say they are treated worse than men but they still want to be women. Its who they are.

Absolutely not. I dont deny at all that people may encounter mistreatment for no reason other than their race. While there are also instances where someone was mistreated for a completely unrelated reason, but the victim used race as a justification for it.

Generally people are treated in relation to how they present themselves and based upon their socioeconomic status.

Just to use the most obvious example, Obamas children have many more opportunities and access to success than mine. Thats perfectly understandable and reasonable, he was the president of the United States. That socioeconomic status obviously carries more weight than race ever would. That is the most extreme example, but that same principle is being carried out on a macro scale of all levels of society. Prestige is what matters.

so you agree life is harder for black people, as there are situations where they are mistreated solely because of their race (and could be for other reasons). Do you think michelle obama doesn't get any hate, solely because of her race? She's wealthy, so she shouldn't, right?
