Jazzmasters and Jaguars, after 50 years, still ship with a completely usesless bridge and a trem system that, while lovely when used properly, requires invasive modification to the guitar to make it function properly. On non-vintage spec models, rather than fixing it the way everyone always has by installing a piece to drastically increase break angle of the strings over the bridge, they just moved it slightly forward, enough to prevent the modification, but not enough to actually remove the necessity for it. The Mustang tremolo is also wholly worthless, and no amount of modification or proper set up can salvage it. They do offer models without it, however no Mustang is currently a "high end" guitar, and the ones I've played recently are honestly on par with the higher end Squiers, which I prefer to lower end Fenders. Telecasters are a widely variable model and there are some sick ones, but most of them have no body contour and as such are extremely uncomfortable to play. Strats have a volume knob and selector switch positioned such that they will frequently be knocked out of position by harder playin. I had to tape both into position on my strat because I would frequently turn myself down or switch pickups mid-song and it would completely fuck with how my whole rig sounded.
