Is it for decoration or for actual use? Because I can get the "I need to fill a wall spot with something" desire for a calendar but I certainly don't see a reason to mark it up with a schedule.

Rusev has always been weirdly presented

He definitely has been "why is this guy a heel" many times with the way he acts

Now it's the norm rather than the exception though. Even his wrestling style he's like, pandering to the crowd, wrestling a more high energy style.

I'm not sure if Rusev is just being smart and soft turning himself because he knows that's the right thing to do based on reactions and the writers are too dumb to realize otherwise, or he's meant to be a face right now, but yeah either way he's a heel in booking (and to a lesser extent, ties to Aiden English, who actually still does act like a heel) only right now.

I feel like Aiden functions as the heel introduction to face Rusev. It's actually reminiscent of Sting/Luger back in 96. Sting would be the babyface portion of the team who is sort of starry-eyed and happy-go-lucky while Luger sort of eggs him on and in the process pisses off any potential ally of Rusev. Rusev is almost child-like and manipulated by Aiden's constant compliments and praise.

Rusev has been presented as a heel that doesn't realize he's a heel for a long time, now. He's got all the usual lovable antics of a home-town hero... Except he's never in his home town. Thus instead of pandering to the crowd, he's actually insulting them. But he doesn't really go out of his way to do so, either, so it's still possible to like him.

It's interesting.

EDIT: Which actually becomes even more interesting when you pair him with Aiden, who is portrayed as very much knowing that Rusev's heel and almost goes out of his way to annoy and antagonize people with that fact.

As much as I hate thrown together tag teams (pretty much every Cena tag title reign), I like it when it becomes a long term partnership like Rusev Day or Orton/Wyatt (not too long term there, but still). I feel like I'm one of the few who enjoy the Bar partnership.

I don't mind thrown together tag teams when it makes sense. Bar was thrown together out of nowhere but have become really enjoyable, which is rare. Rusev Day made a bit more sense from the beginning because they didn't just randomly team together or get told to. There was the whole actual Rusev Day celebration thing first.
