I don't want an action-y game with a voiced main character with a dialogue wheel

I feel like I'm in the extreme minority when I say I liked the voiced protagonist, the only drawback was the lack of options in dialogue.

Anyway, Todd himself said that the voiced protagonist didn't really work out as they wanted it to and he kinda regretted going down that road. Anyway Elder Scrolls wouldn't fit a voiced protagonist due to all the races available to play as.

As of like ~9 months ago they hadn't even started on it yet and were still "waiting for the tech to catch up". It's going to be a while, and it seems they are still going the ambitious route as usual.

But Skyrim can only be ported so many times before they lose funding.

I didn't mind the voiceover too much, but I don't really want it in ES. Still, doing a sarcasm run in Fallout 4 is one of the funniest things ever

Being able to say FUCK YOU, KELLOG! as Nora was legit one of my favorite parts of that game.

They're probably making money off their Elder Scrolls card game and I'm sure ESO is making money for Zenimax and Zenimax isn't gonna let Bethesda fall.

They gotta finish the PS5 Skyrim port before they start brainstorming on ES6.

While the dialogue system was an overall step down, I really liked having a voiced protagonist; she felt like an actual character in the world, not just a lifelike mannequin conduit that was only a step up from Wreck-it Ralph's monitor-on-wheels when you happened to be in 3rd Person.

But while I would welcome a quality voiced protag system in ES6, I'm very doubtful that Beth could pull it off on their best day. Fallout 4 already suffers from a lack of voiced variety between different characters, and in ES you'd need a bare mimimum of three VAs per gender (human, elf, and beast races). Anything less than this (such as having a nord and khajitt protag with the same VA, or even going so far as to limit the playable races) would be downright unforgivable.

Voiced protagonist would have been fine if there were more than one voice for male and one for female, and if the actual dialogue options didn't seem to suffer immensely like they did in Fallout 4

I'd way rather a silent protagonist with the huge variety of dialogue options that New Vegas had than a bland voiced one

I wouldn't mind the game being "actiony" if it meant that the combat got better. (I didn't think the combat was improved enough for the focus to completely shift in Fallout 4 tbqh)

But I'd hate it if the quests became even more bare bones than Skyrims.

bethesda games become more and more casual with every release. i wouldn't be surprised if they outright remove seperate stat areas or at the very least consolidate them into a handful of them for the next game

Yeah I don't think I'd want it in the next ES. I like it in Fallout 4. But, I'm also enjoying it in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

It makes sense in Inquisition because it's centrally tied to the story, but the main story in Fallout 4 is much less central to the overarching game.
