Best way to play it tbh. Go in blind, get your ass kicked for a few hours, start gittin gud.
Best noob friendly tip I can give: Upgrade the Stagecoach to produce 4 heroes ASAP so you never end up in a situation where you can't field a full team. Also, don't get too attached to any one hero. Don't upgrade one person or team far above the others, don't waste a bunch of resources curing stress or removing quirks off them. I just started playing it on ps4 and I've got similar issues with the controls. I've put in about 10 hours and still have no idea how to dismiss party members. I just take them into dungeons and kill them off in the first fight that they come to.
