I like how there's some strategy to how you use the weapon too since it's modes kind of rely on each other. I haven't watched any tutorials on YouTube so I'm sure there are more tricks to it I can learn about.

Runner-up badass weapon goes to the insect glaive, but being new to the series I have no idea how to utilize the insects yet.

Might try the gunlance out next, the regular weapons that are supposed to be user friendly are all boring. I love transforming weapons (it's why Bloodborne is one of my top 3 personal GOAT games)

Charge Blade is the best weapon, yeah. Mostly because of how freaking sweet it feels to pull off mid-combo guard points and predictively AED the head. I've actually never really liked the SAED as a move because of how imprecise it is, with the whole shockwave coming out behind the axe impact, so I'm a little bummed that they buffed that move so much it's now technically the best to use (for everything except cutting tails, anyway) despite having the least finesse.

I was interested in Charge Blade at first, but I clicked with the Greatsword and Bow immediately.

Landing a true lvl 3 charge and watching the monster crumple and hearing the crackle of the dragon piercer as it rips through the entire length of the monster's body is always satisfying.

You sound like my friend who swears up and down the road there's finesse to the weapon.

The shortcuts from 4U returned, as in being able to use the AED from a guardpoint and from the Shield thrust (just Triangle and O afterwards). All you need to do is charge that shield, charge that blade, charge those phials and go ham on the ultra. Boom badabing bada boom. Monster's seeing stars if it's not dead, your teammates are flying away in pure jealousy of the badassery of your explosions (and being knocked away by the blow too), and you're walking away with all the accolades.
