How much do top Democrats know that hasn't been publicly disclosed?
Hillary Clinton doesn't spout bullshit on serious stuff like this, so her calling Trump a Russian puppet in the debate implies she's 100% confident. My sense of how top Democrats have been holding back is that they know there is metaphorically "fatal" evidence of Trump's guilt, and that they've been strategically holding back to time things to maximize the impact on the November 2018 election.
They're too calm and too quiet for people who are uncertain about the underlying facts and the future of Trump as President.

Conversely, the Republicans have been wildly bizarre and insane by their own standards. Yes, the party is internally in disarray, but the disorder, divisions and lack of discipline are extremely abnormal, as are the wave of officials declining to run for re-election.

What don't we know?

All that Russia stuff is a theater act. The real crime was the Dems spying on Donald before and after his win, and the warrant to spy was granted based on a fake dossier. It's a crafted lie to cover up the fact that the Dems did some crazy stuff of their own.

Hence why the Dems are defecating themselves over the release of the memo.

sure, we should take a step back and reexamine how ok we are with how FISA is handled
but the memo is not watergate level

There was a FISA surveillance on Page since 2013 - they had recordings from Russian spies that Carter was their agent
The counterintelligence investigation began before the FISA applications against Page, Papadopoulos was already under investigation

Really wouldn't be surprised if the memo is going to backfire on them. They think the memo says "the FBI used information from the Steele memos," but it ends up confirming a lot of the information reported by the "fake news."
Now we have government confirmation that Carter Page was under investigation since 2013, Papadopoulos was the reason the FBI started a counter-intelligence investigation into the Trump campaign, and that a Trump appointed member of the Justice Department thought the evidence against Page was strong enough to approve a renewal of a FISA warrant.
And what gets me is that the biggest paragraph is the last one. Basically confirmed the investigation started with Papadopoulus and the Australians, not Carter Page. So they inadvertently confirmed something (the NYT story) they claimed was fake news.

They're hoping that the Trump-faithful will completely over-look the fact that there are, in fact, many reasons why the FBI should be investigating Page's shady dealings and instead focus on the words "Clinton," "Democrats," "clear bias against Trump," etc.

This memo was set up for a single reason: give the right-wing propaganda machine enough faux-ammo to cry "BIAS" and hope it works well enough that this whole "Russia thing" goes away.
Guess what: it's not. And if you think it is, you're being played.

Guys, Hillary Clinton was 100% innocent and the most qualified candidate in history, and Donald Trump was secretly working with Vlad Putin to undermine our democratic process.

This is why this investigation is the most important thing of our lifetimes. They are finding out some of the shadiest things between Trump and Russia. The most corrupt scandal in history.

I'm sure they'll find some evidence soon!
