Spawn. If we're getting in to more comedic ones, Blankman. Also, yeah, Steel. Think Spawn came out a touch before it though.

I heard we're getting a new Spawn movie and a few other Image Comic movies. I think it was ComicBookGirl19 that had a video about it

That's because Abar, the First Black Superman is better off forgotten.

I did enjoy the one scene though where he beat up the two confederates and deposited them in the dumpster. If only the rest of the film had been as over the top.

Shaft

If there'd been a fourth movie, he probably would've become a superhero. There was kind of a steady progression to those films.

1st movie - tough detective
2nd movie - action hero
3rd movie - James Bond

Had they made a fourth one, he probably would've become Shaft-Man.

Those were movies where the superhero just happens to be black. This movie will take ethno pandering to the next level.

Falcon was the first African-American Superhero. There were other hero types before him like Lawmen and such but he was the first true Superhero. Then for some unknown reason out of the fucking blue they changed his back story from a social worker to a Pimp that got brained washed .

Marvel's first series star of color
One regular feature in Jungle Tales, "Waku, Prince of the Bantu", starred an African chieftain in Africa, with no regularly featured Caucasian characters. Marvel Comics' first Black feature star,[3] he was created by writer Don Rico and artist Ogden Whitney, succeeded by artist John Romita Sr. Waku, who predated mainstream comics' first black superhero, Marvel's Black Panther, by nearly a dozen years, headlined one of four regular features in each issue. It would take a decade for the first African-American series star, the Western character Lobo, to appear, and nearly two decades before the likes of the Black Panther, Luke Cage, and the Falcon would star in solo series.

Judging from his picture, Waku was not only the first black Marvel superhero, but also the originator of the Stone Cold Stunner.

I think that in the long run this pandering is going to get the same response as the Blaxsploitation era films did, they aren't going to be remembered fondly as boosting minority issues but as shameless corporate cash ins.
