A message board, though, we all come here with relatively similar interests, which gives us a default way to relate to each other (even though two gamers liking the same games in the same ways is actually pretty rare). Also, the pacing of message board discussion is a lot easier for me to cope with. I see my family like maybe once a week. the rest of the time I'm just in my apartment with my cat. I realized a long time ago that the people that you meet in real life you have nothing in common with, and talking to them just doesn't work, even somewhere like Facebook.
