If youve played harvest moon you can pretty much skip sterdew valley. It was fun for a little while but I dont know how you can sink a ton of time into it unless you are into that type of thing. Id say it is a pretty good imitation of HM if you are into that though.

I love it up until about the end of year 2

At that point I'm married, have great gear, assloads of $$$ and am probably finished the community center thing

So past that the game gets quite boring

I think that most people that would find it boring wouldn't bother to play it in the first place. This is why it's hard to find negative reviews. Its a genre that i can easily see other people not enjoying or finding boring.

Kinda, I like Harvest Moon but I lost interest in Stardew Valley way too quickly. It's a good imitation but it lacks some of the small improvements from the later Harvest Moon games.

I played it right after beating Story of Seasons Trio of Towns and found it worse in every way, and incredibly boring. Also I wasn't a fan of the character art at all. Not a great game, imho

I'm in fall year 2 and ive just hit the wall of nothing to do. Guess I could make friends with everyone but most of the people are pretty meh.

Whats the best HM/SoS game thats pretty recent? And has a good endgame?
