They allowed the fun to play out while making sure that no one got hurt. There may have been a bit of property damage, but from what i saw/read there weren't really many serious injuries. Surprisingly they didn't even mind the fireworks being set off by city hall. I'm usually critical of the cops, but gotta give credit where credit is due.

Yeah there may have been just a bit of property damage, no big deal. Rioting is fine.

Supposedly there was more arrests in Boston than in Philly lel.

Philly fans get a bad rap (I'm a Flyers and Phillies fan) but supposedly last night was tame compared to what was expected. Although Boston sports fans also have a bad reputation so I guess it evens out.

The police chatter transcript is funny though. Lot of pointless nonsense.

Seriously everyone last night was freaking out calling it a riot, mad at the news for not reporting it. It's not really a riot it's a freaking Super Bowl celebration, learn to live a little. And those business have a thing called INSURANCE - educate yourself once in a while people. And I haven't heard anyone getting seriously hurt last night either.

I guess that makes everything peachy keen.

Compared to the Vancouver riot when they lost to Boston, this is child's play.

yea, it was just thousands of philly morons spelling out e-a-g-l-e-s over and over again. Let them enjoy it. Anytime there are mass gatherings like this there will be a very small percentage of people who take advantage, but to dismiss the entire thing as a riot is lazy and silly

It's definitely not ok, but it's kinda to be expected when thousands of people take to the streets. The cops minimized it as much as they could, but the important part is that they maintained safety. The overwhelming majority of people were just out in the streets to celebrate, it was only a select few assholes that ruined stores/flipped a car.

Letting it play out was the smart move. If they came out in full riot gear to disperse people it would have just made things worse
