Define good idea.
Its a good idea in that what else are you going to do. Its s bad idea in that the way student loans are structured is designed to fuck you and reforms should be made down to the roots of the system. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Right now trade school jobs are what's most needed so it's best to go with that than get in debt for a decade to get a degree in a field that might not be hiring until years after you graduate --- Pokemon Moon FC: 1994-2190-5020 IGN: Vanessa ... Copied to Clipboard!

C, but better countries where you don't need to put yourself in debt in order to go to college have the right idea Nah, that just encourages the kind of people who go and do some bullshit liberal degree, so they can wait an extra three years before making the effort to apply for welfare. The system NZ has (although the new government is trying to kill it) works well - you can get an interest-free student loan, with repayments tied to your income. The student loan is almost universally available - the only things that disqualify you are current (not past) bankruptcy, continual bad grades, or reaching a lifetime limit (which is something ridiculous like 10 years of study). It isn't tied to your credit record in any way. Essentially, it ends up being "you do get free education, but you have to pay a slightly higher tax rate for a while afterwards". So, all the advantages of "increase taxes, make it free", but without putting any extra burden on those who choose not to pursue post-high-school study (or fund it themself). --- ... I agree if you're talking about degrees in alternate reality social justice bullshit, but we need people who study "worthless" degrees like philosophy, literature, and "useless" languages.

The college I attend costs $750/semester to attend, plus books and stuff.
I'm in a trades program that takes 2 years, then I'll transition into the local Union and start at $20/hour plus full benefits, and 2 years knocked off of the 5-year requirement to advance to Journeyman which makes a guaranteed minimum of $30/hour. ALL WHILE INCURRING ZERO DEBT This is not how it's gonna go for everybody, but I can tell you there are good options available for the correct people. IDC how you feel about unions, sometimes you've just gotta take a good deal and run with it. --- All these boomas like me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVkkHVl8QvE ... Copied to Clipboard!
