Background: I'm a first year high school math teacher teaching a mixed class of all grades 9-12

The textbook comes with an online interactive version that offers on the spot videos, multiple walkthrough examples, the whole 9 yards.

The problem I ended up with went as follows:

"A Squirrel is 54 feet up in a tree and drops a chestnut on a bush that is 10 ft off the ground. The height of the chestnut can be modeled by the function h(t) = -16t^2 + 54 where h is the height in feet and t is the time in seconds. "

And this slide comes up in bold:

When will the nut land on the bush

Fucking hell I had to wait 15 minutes for the class to cool down after that.
