I work 12 hours for 6 days a week and have been for the past 3 years with 1 week vacation a year.

I frequently leave the house at 1 PM, get on site around 2 PM, work until around 7 AM and get home around 8 AM. It all depends on what you're getting paid. I'm making about $600 for that day. Easily worth it to me.

Only for hourly paid, but not salary.

So the whole day is spent at work. I'm assuming this takes place 5 times a week. Even with those two days off, I wouldn't stop thinking about "Damn, tomorrow I gotta be at work all day again". I'd be miserable.

It's blue collar and I do enjoy it. Pays well and I'd rather be at work than playing video games which is pretty much saved for my only day off of the week. During those times I took vacations, I pretty much only need 3 days to fully rest for the year and I was completely bored at home.

Regularly did 16-20 hour days in the oilfield. Did a few 24 hours. Some longer.

But I mean, time and a half after 8, and double time after 14.

For 6-10 hours a day I was making 45 bucks an hour at 19 years old. Roads bans came on in spring, whamo, 2 months off.

Its a shame I ended up disliking the work.

Some people just live to work or live for money i guess. Not me, I never understood it. I aim to do as little overtime as possible. My time is better spent elsewhere whether it's being invested into school or myself.

Unless you are literally struggling to support yourself and your family, I never understood why people try to brag about how much overtime they get. If you honestly enjoy doing what you do more than you enjoy your free time and anything else, i dont see the point.
