I remember Turok 1 and 2 and the N64 version of Resident Evil 2 has options for 2 or more blood colors. I liked playing RE2 with blue blood for laughs.

Yup, Turok was the first thing that came to mind. I REALLY miss codes too.

I had a friend at school who used to faint at the sight of blood, he used to rely on these blood colour options so he could play games. Dread to think how he copes with modern games and movies... probably had to abandon them completely :/

It's a shame really, people are obsessed today with making things accessible, but this is one area they've gone backwards.

I remember Alien Hominid had an option that removed the blood and made daisies pop out of the bodies of the people you killed. It was hilarious, and more games should have joke options like that.

Codes got replaced with unlockables and then they tied trophies or achievements to them, and now they have them as dlc or else cut content that only is accessible via data mining and mods unless it's a console-only release.

I can live without bighead or low gravity modes but there used to be games with zany modes like "all enemies explode confetti on death, also guns get replaces by radios like ET" and the like. The closest I've seen to that since the ps3 era was what, that wacky wasteland perk in fallout new Vegas and that was in 2010?

GTA and Saints Row have cheats still, I'm hoping RDR2 will have cheats as well.
