I thought you meant realistic in the sense that it can't be accomplished. I mean even if it was it would still go wrong.

People are just a bit shitty when they gain power and influence. A small group of people deciding everything for a country will basically be an even more warped version of the 1% we see today. They'll be putting themselves and everyone they're connected to as their priority. It can't be helped. A system where highly educated people decide anything would be bad for rural and poor areas even if their intentions are good.

As flawed as democracy can be I don't think there is a better alternative. I think trying to educate more voters into taking this stuff seriously is better than taking the choice away from them.

Democracy can work. But we don't have one in the US. Between gerrymandering, racist policies to prevent and disenfranchise minorities from voting, the intentional lack of education and religious zealotry that's protected and perpetuated as mandatory in many parts of the country? It's obvious that the system is flawed towards the interests of the groups which created and enforce those systems. (Read: major corporations, the rich, religious groups)

Unfortunately far left fascism is becoming more and more popular. "Everyone who disagrees with me is a racist!" "Everyone who disagrees with me is Hitler!" "If you disagree with me you must hate gay people in some manner!" etc. The intelligent portion of the population is laughing more and more at the far left.

My recommendation to you is to research instances of disagreements during which race is a complete non-factor in context. On the other hand, I could also recommend that you continue to embarrass yourself until you don't have accounts, if that seems like a more desirable outcome.

The only reason Democracy looks appealing is because other forms over government are worse. Democracy in theory seems great, but I've come to learn that the vast majority of humans are simply incapable of choosing adequate leaders and representatives, be it out of ignorance, selfishness, or any number of other things.

my bad on that. I've never really cared to run for any office below president of the US and I've only been eligible to run for US president for just over a month. This shit takes time. Apologies if it's been burdensome waiting for me...

I can still see people not caring about voting anymore at all. The South Park analogy of "Giant Douche vs. Turd Sandwich" has never rang more true. It truly doesn't matter who gets your vote, they're going to take your money and run (while running your country into the ground and selling out your children's futures to boot).

But don't you think throwing your hands up and saying majority rule, voting, and individual freedom isn't worth it is the worst kind of way to approach whatever problems the system has? And is a more dangerous precedent than the current system we're in?

If so, that's extremely irresponsible because it adversely affects us all.

Makes sense. People blamed congress for everything when Obama was in office.

But for me, I'm not interested just because I'm disillusioned. Cast one vote of three hundred million that will be tossed out completely in favor of the vote of less than a thousand people? When I was in sixth grade and some teacher tried to explain to me why Al Gore lost despite more people voting for him, I decided any productive adult had better things to do with their time.

Disenchantment with the powers that be is a natural result of widespread education. American exceptionialism had a good run until the rest of the world caught up and jingoism took a backseat to a more global sense of community.
