Just said I don't feel quite so bad for people who come across as unfulfilled if that's all they (or think they) want to do.

And snaring yourself in capitalism's web is somehow better?

What is a good alternative to that though?

TC is high on something.

My 30s have been the best years of my life. It's nice to have more money, know what I'm doing in life, and feel less societal pressure.

I am a bit worried about TC, it seems he is in a depressed state.

Depressed as in, he needs meds, not as in sad.

I don't know, but that doesn't mean capitalism is something to boast about. When life is literally all about working and paying bills for a majority of people, how is that even living? And then if you highlight the flaws in that, people think you're naive and stop taking you seriously.

Well then we should be given free money and video games by the government, and can sit around all day playing them!

Please point me to a functioning and happy society that doesn't involve working and paying bills.

The hope is to find something you enjoy doing, and compliment the rest with good life experiences.

Life ends at age 27.

Prior to age 27, you will have what is considered a "life", which will be active social & romantic interactions, a diverse set of interests, and a lifestyle that is unique to you.

Past age 27, your "life" will now be a series of interconnected actions designed to prevent you from dying or suffering from abject poverty/loneliness.

I always laugh when people talk about paying bills or THE CAPITALIST MACHIIINE as some life-ending, horrible thing and get all self-congratulatory about being more woke than all the sheeple

Heres an idea:
1) get a job you like, or at least with people you like but preferably in your chosen line of work that fulfills you
2) get a place you like that youll be proud to pay for and call your own
3) use that job you like to get paid time off and go take ballin vacations, see the world, take yourself or your family if you settle down on amazing experiences
4) if you get married, wait for a girl youd comfortably call your best friend as opposed to just hitching your wagon to some girl youve been seeing for a while
5) on top of all that, carve out a little bit of me time in your schedule for hobbies like video games. If you did #4 right, shell understand and want some me time of her own too
6) eat halfway decently so you dont get fat even if you cant live at the gym, itll be good for your confidence and self-worth
7) ???
8) profit

OR just be a NEET and post online about how clever you are to have beat the system by being completely dependent on Mommy for the rest of your life.

I'm glad you asked.

At age 27, your career will likely begin to become settled or ramp up, so you're going to be working 40+ hours a week on a professional job. As a result, the vast majority of your time from this point forward to likely the day you die or become too senile to work anymore (good luck retiring) will be revolving around work/sleep.

On the social side, you will never have another meaningful relationship in your life past age 27, because around this age is when your friends start getting into serious relationships/getting engaged/getting married.

If you are single, you will pretty much never see them again, and when you do it will have to be outings scheduled 6 months in advance where your buddy (who you no longer can relate to) has to leave early because him and his wife have to get up early the next morning to look at paint swatches in Home Depot.

If you have a SO yourself, all your current and new friendships will now morph into "couples friends", where your SO meets a girl she likes, and assumes that since you and the girl's boyfriend/fiancee/husband/manslave have the same reproductive organs that you will get along.

After couples friends comes something even worse: once you have kids, you will now be demoted to having "parent friends." This is when your child meets another kid that has a shared interest in finger painting or booger picking, so you arrange a playdate and are forced to interact with the other kid's parent(s), who in this case are people that you have even LESS in common with than the couple friends.

As your kid gets older and his or her friends change, so will the parent friends filter in and out of your life, until your kid is old enough to socialize on their own and you realize that you haven't had a meaningful social connection in the last 20+ years.

"But GB," you might say. "I know how to beat the system! I'm going to have hobbies! I'm going to have an activity that I love to do that will allow me to retain some individuality, and I'll meet friends through that!"

Sounds good, but unfortunately this is not the case. Functional adults do not have hobbies; they simply do not have the time nor energy to waste on frivolous amusements (their "hobby" will be watching 30 minutes of TV a night before bed).

As a result, you will be stuck with the social leftovers; you'll be painting Warhammer 40k figurines with obese 35 year old men who live with their parents, in a crowded gamestore frequented predominantly by the same young children that you are obligated to set an example for back home.

Have fun. This is life past age 27 and it is overwhelmingly bleak.

Life doesn't stop until you're like 70.

Until that age, people can move really good, do physical things, and enjoy the outdoors. I know plenty of 60-70 year old people who can do more work than people in their 20s.

As long as you stay active past your 20s, life is great for a long time.

When you're a kid you don't have much of a life, unless it's very unfortunate.
When you're a teen odds are good you have a bad life be a useful hormones, stupidity, peer pressure, and all the other things come along and make it suck.
When you're in your 20s you really get your first feel for life and probably suck at quite a few aspects of it since you have zero experience.

So yeah, not seeing how this is even remotely true. Literally everyone I've known says 30s are where it's at. Life is shitty before then.
