I know at least one. Possibly two, it's hard to tell because some people are too embarrassed to admit it.

I just tell them I'm open to possibilities outside of my experience because I don't want to make them feel bad, but also because I want to understand why people believe in these things. They always cite youtube videos as the things that made them question their beliefs. It's like youtube is the new bible for some people.

My best guess... Wikileaks and all the NSA stuff that's come out lately were the main focus for a lot of conspiracy stuff before. Political corruption, spying, etc. And now that that's all out in the open it's like what do they talk about now?

I wish I did so I could ask them, WHY would people lie about the shape of the Earth. The lie doesn't effect people. Since some how we can still circumnavigate the Earth. The shape would the world would not seem to effect anything.

Conspiracy people have always been out there but its just easier than ever with social media. You have access to thousands of people who think just like you and you never ever have to challenge your view points.
