I'm 32 and the answer is absolutely, we have the home to accommodate kids and the income to support kids, we're just too selfish to spend our money on kids. We'll be laying down reading or watching a show and she will say "Wouldn't it be great it we had a couple of kids?" And I ask her "What would we be doing right now if we had kids?" It doesn't take many turns of the cranial cogs before she says "Good point, that's a terrible idea."

Could I? Sure, financially and all that we'd be fine.

However, after a long day for work sometimes I'll just think about how shitty it would be if I had to deal with a two year old instead of making dinner and passing out.

Again, selfish. I don't quite see putting off what I want to do with my life for the next two decades and resuming living for me again in my early 50s especially appealing.
