saying "ax" instead of "ask"?

There's this one coworker I have who is generally very professional and well spoken. The one exception is that he says "ax" or "axed" instead of "ask" or "asked."

Is it okay to bring this up?

If you're assuming he says "ax" because of whatever his race is, then yeah.
Which has less to do with the criticizing part, and more to do you with you asking if it's racist to criticize a flaw that has nothing to do with race.
