Example: Infinite Rocket Launcher in RE games.

You did the most challenging thing so heres something that will ruin all challenge and be boring, at most, 30 mins later.

Especially when the game already has an easy mode for you to romp around all God-like right from the start.

I dunno, it's fun to be able to waste enemies with such overwhelming power that you wouldn't be able to do in a "normal" play, especially if the game bothers to acknowledge your abnormal resources with little Easter eggs for things you shouldn't be able to usually do.

Something unique regardless if its a game mode that changes traditional rules (not god mode) an ability, weapon, character, alternate outfits... Most things that arnt game breaking boring op modes.

I like that kind of stuff personally. By the time you beat it on the hardest difficulty you've likely played the game several times anyway, so there's not much else they can give you that will make you want to play again. Giving you something that completely fucks up the game and is fun for 30 minutes is a good prize.

Getting legitimate God mode, unlimited ammo, various other things like that is way different than just easy mode and offers 100% fuck around material.

You're literally upset that they at least attempt to give you a reason to spend a bit longer playing it after you've done everything that you can do. And again, not like it's forced. It's just them giving you a fuck around mode because there's nothing more for you to do.

Heck they could combine both. You're more likely to die while playing God mode because you're dicking around and not being as careful.
Or just have them as check boxes in the options, turn on whichever ones you want, with any difficulty you want.

It takes them 5 minutes to tack on things like god mode, infinite ammo, etc. unlocks. It takes a team, time, and money to develop new game modes, maps, challenges, stories, etc.

Literally mad that they're just throwing in something extra for you to have fun with because they won't make you a magic game that never ends.

What would be a good reward then? Because IMO the reward has always been self-satisfaction and bragging rights, and nowadays (as in the past 12 years) achievements have enhanced that.

Yeah I don't really understand what you're asking for here.

Easy mode generally isn't the same as God Mode or whatever. Easy mode usually still follows the rules of the game. It's just easier. You still progress the same way no matter the difficulty.

While at the same time you've made no actual points for why it bad or a problem or worth hating.

Like I said, it takes them like 5 minutes and costs nothing to add that to the game, something some people might get some fun out of and be able to do some cool things with.
New modes require a team, a development cycle, testing, and money. It's not like they're making some cutting room floor decision of "we either give them a new game mode, or add some rewards like god mode and such" and they're all choosing the latter. They do it because it costs practically nothing and adds an extra layer to the game for those who want it or can find some fun out of it. Then you're making it an entirely different topic and suggesting DLC, lol what? Do you think games giving basic rewards like god mode, infinite ammo, new skins, etc. Is coming at the cost of removing other note substantial content?

This is as absurd as those people I've seen argue that trophies/achievements are bad. It's something that's not taking any any actual notable game development or features, it's not something anyone is making you do, it's just something that's there for the people who care or get something out of it and it costs virtually nothing and takes no time to implement.
