I'm tempted to marathon the classic Mario games, but I don't know which platform would be the best.

What do you think, CE?

For the GBA titles color doesn't matter since there's a workaround for it. However, stuff like audio and screen crunch do matter.

NES for SMB and both SMB2s, SMB2 USA is okay on SNES though

SNES for Yoshi's Island, the screen crop and color shift in Advance actually hurts here unlike World

GBA for SMW and SMB3, but if you're not doing the World-e stuff for SMB3 any of them will work

I'll only play SMB3 on the NES.

Had both the NES and SNES versions growing up, but the SNES/GBA graphics just look ugly to me now.

All*Stars is great if you don't have access to an NES, but I have to rule in favor of the originals. Some of the graphical updates are nice, but the music is butchered. And why did they change the kings from Super Mario Bros. 3?

The GBA games take it a step further by adding unnecessary voices (which feel completely detached from the games themselves) and for replacing the second Triclyde fight with a robot. Really?
