its a lot of fun.
its buggy and since there are no dedicated servers if the host quits everyones game ends.

but when it works its fun.

there are 11 characters to choose from.
you can break it down to 3 playstyles, runner, fighter or fixer.

the runners run from cabin to cabin gathering parts to fix the car or phone or boat. and distract jason by getting him to chase them over slower counselors.
if you wanna be a runner the best choice is vanessa.

the fighters get a baseball bat and stun jason with it. if you wanna be a fighter you be chad.

the fixers actually repair the car or phone so you can escape. the downside is that they are slow so if jason finds them they struggle to survive and a good jason wont usually let them get away because they are the biggest threat to him killing everyone.
if you wanna be a fixer the best choice is deborah

Yeah, he has some easy counters, but when the survivors mess up, he can really punish it. He's super fun to play.

F13th is fun but it's kinda niche. You have to like survival horror, and beyond that you have to be fine with dying and then spending 10 minutes watching other people die. I use that time to do dishes or work out lol.

If you can like the style it's fun though. And they're pretty steadily adding new content

basically this. dead by daylight is where you go if you wanna tryhard with the very sweatiest of tryhards, friday the 13th is where you go if you wanna have fun and don't mind some glitchiness

friday at least offers you multiple ways to survive

you can drive to safety
take a boat
call the police
or kill jason

I wouldn't mind more ways to escape, but I don't like playing survivor in general. I love that Dead by Daylight lets you choose Survivor or Killer, so you can alternate and switch the gameplay up instead of hoping that you randomly get Jason.

Plus each of the Killers play a bit different and do different things. Allowing for some variety.

all the different jasons also play differently thanks to stat differences altering how to use them
all jasons can do the same things but not as well

Also, here are the Killers and their powers in Dead by Daylight

The Trapper: He can set bear traps around the map, catching and injuring survivors.

The Wraith: He can cloak himself and move quicker with enhanced tracking while cloaked.

The Hillbilly: He has a chainsaw, he sprints while using the saw to run across the map faster than any Killer or Survivor. If he hits a survivor with the Chainsaw, they instantly go into the dying state.

The Nurse: She can teleport and avoid damn near every obstacle in the game. Hard to play, but super rewarding to learn.

Michael Myers: Myers is stealthy and has three stages. In the beginning of the game, he moves slower, but has no terror radius and very little indication of where he is. Really stealthy, and will scare the shit out of survivors who aren't paying any attention. In stage 2, he moves faster, and has a bigger terror radius. In stage three, he has a massive terror radius, the Halloween Music plays, and he can instantly put survivors into the dying state. He raises his Stage by stalking survivors.

The Hag: The Hag can draw traps on the ground. When a trap is triggered, she can teleport to the triggered trap.

The Doctor: The Doctor inflicts madness on Survivors in his terror radius. In the different stages of madness, they have a variety of different effects. Such as, Seeing illusions of the Killer, seeing false pallets, random skill check locations, terror radius playing when the killer isn't near, screaming randomly, and even losing the ability to interact with objects.

The Huntress: She can throw hatchets at the survivors. They can also have some debilitating effects.

Freddy Krueger: He's completely invisible to survivors. In order to interact with them, he needs to drag them into the dream world. Once they're in the dream world, they cannot hide from Freddy. He can see their auras wherever they are. They also have a slow action speed. In order to wake up, they need to fail a skill check.

Leatherface: Leatherface has a chainsaw. He can charge it up and swing it wildly, instantly putting survivors into the dying state, he can also hit multiple survivors at a time, unlike Hillbilly.

Amanda Young: She can sneak around the map with no terror radius and preform ambush attacks. When downing a survivor, she can put Reverse Bear Traps on their heads. If a generator is completed, a timer starts. They have to search Jigsaw boxes and hope for a key to unhook it. If they cannot remove the Reverse Bear Traps within the time limit, they die.
