Would you trust someone who has VIDEO GAME EXPERIENCE to fight in the War?

24 y/o John Duttenhofer, a former CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE in Colorado QUIT his job and flew to Syria to fight ISIS...but he has NO MILITARY EXPERIENCE and relied all of his shooting skills from playing CALL OF DUTY!!

The hardcore video gamer flew to Syria last April to fight with the Kurdish to liberate the city from ISIS

He said he played first persons hooter games on XBOX up to 13 HOURS a day and gave him an understanding of weapons and taught him basic combat skills before going to Syria as he has no experience with the military and was a still an amateur when it comes to shooting a g un.

He spent 6 months fighting ISIS in the capital which was finally liberated in October

He returned back to the United States 4 months after suffering the loss of his close friend, 24 y/o Jac Holmes, a British IT worker who also quit his job to fight ISIS and had no military experience

Speaking for the first time, he spoke of how he spent his long days in Syria playing Dungeons and Dragons and reading and chatting with friends..but by night he went deep into the city with an AK47 alongside a sniper unit and shot at ISIS fighteers.

The State Dept strongly advises against Americans travelling to Syria but there are no legal consequences to volunteering to fight ISIS with Kurdish and Syrian militias

John said he relied on war re-enactment games like COD to teach him practical skills to survive and meant he was already familiar with weapons despite never firing one before going to Syria

He said he was "disappointed" he DIDN'T KILL any ISIS SOLDIERS but saw his "battle buddies" fire the fatal shots..including the friend he lost....

He says "i had no guilt about it. They are a group worse than the Nazis. They want to live in the ddark ages again and i didn't want to live in a world with them"

Despite the threat of death, he said he struggled with home comforts like an air conditioner and chocolate milk but now that he's home, he's back at home with his bookeeper Mom, Sherie and delivery driver dad, David who were worried sick the whole time he was there as they tried to persuade him not to go to Raqqa, an area that was regularly hit by airstrikes from the syrian government

John says of the war "On one hand, i selfishly wanted to fight ISIS. On the other, i wanted to be part of something that was historical and groundbreaking. I wasn't scared of dying or anything like that"

He is now back at home and is back on XBOX playing Call Of Duty once again to get his "training" enhanced..

Would you trust someone who uses VIDEO GAME EXPERIENCE to be in War?

Winning factors of war isnt just about body count, simply the presence of an overwhelming force can win battles.

maybe. but I just think they probably didn't make enough difference to make his friend's death worth it.

The mere fact the kid survived seriously puts ISIS efficacy into question. Perhaps all the things said about them are lies?

Well, that should be obvious. I remember there were stories or news stories of a few parents who went and got their kids back from ISIS. So, I mean, there's that...

I'm honestly surprised that you can actually just go and do that. You'd think that there'd be some structure preventing it although, I suppose, if law enforcement was functional, ISIS wouldn't be so rampant there.

They're nowhere near as bad as Nazis, although they're still a terrible group.

So insensitive of me to think of the family of the dead man who would rather have him alive instead of 3 extra isis dead

Sure. It's not like that would be the deciding factor though.
