It would help if you guys actually looked up the the turnout percentages before making posts like this, because there was no significant surge in 2006. Registered Republicans still showed up in greater percentages in 2006. Democrats were still overall incredibly lazy, just less so than they are when a Democrat is president. https://www.nytimes.com/2017/04/05/upshot/democrats-are-bad-at-midterm-turnout-that-seems-ready-to-change.html --- - The Admiral ... the interesting question is whether dems can do this continuously or just this once I'm fully expecting this to be the first time in 30 years where Democratic voter turnout percentage is higher, but I have no delusions that it will sustain itself. hmm, I dunno, I would watch for indivisible to stay active for several years into the governing democratic administration just like the tea party has stuck around and is only now with trump starting to 'die off' since it has been replaced with the new cultural moment of trumpism which is a related but different phenomenon
indivisible and the other activist groups are helping to shape many of these new candidates. if they win, that movement is going to become more important, not less, at least at first --- He would make his mark, if not on this tree, then on that wall; if not with teeth and claws, then with penknife and razor. ...
