How I Met Your Mother may be it. Especially tragic since you could edit it down into a really great series. Classic case of went on too long. Bro, I know the bar is low here since it's tween mystery drama, but this show manages to find lows, tease fans with something legitimately good, and then completely abandon it for something that's just horrific. The gaping obvious plotholes that you realize like the second they have reveals are ridiculous. And it somehow had the single worst finale I have ever seen in my life that dumps so hard on anyone who was a hardcore fan of the show. If you looked on the reddit or any other fan grouping, you'd just get people who were so defeated with the show in the past two seasons and eventually all came to a realization "Wait, we're watching trash. Let's just make jokes and really bad assumptions about what will happen." And some of them came true! It became a group of people hate watching it because the show never started to grow with the age of its audience. I think the worst part about it was how pointless the episodes would be. Like, they would basically come to a realization on who was the person terrorizing them, no matter how silly it was, and then they wold approach this person and be like "Hey what up?" And then you have a three or four episode story arc telling us how they aren't the super secret evil person. And they just kept narrowing down suspects that way, so you're just watching and you're like "Oh, so this person isn't a part of this because we're like, three episodes into the season. Good to know." On the opposite end, they somehow have some really good portrayals of LGBT characters which was unique to see, and then some absolutely horrific portrayals. I'm the same way, but it's interesting to see what the lowest tolerable level of quality is that someone will stick out. I will say that True Blood was something my partner cared about more, and I just watched it with him.
