My Mac was horribly slow. Literally everything I did would result in a spinning beachball and multiple minutes of loading. I didn't even have much downloaded, just a bunch of videos and photos. Yet it ran like I was using a computer from 1998.
Second time I had to wipe within 2 years. I need a new computer but theres no way I'm dropping another $1000+ while this one is still usable. I need to replace the battery too --- ... Copied to Clipboard!

$1k is a bit steep when you consider you can get really good laptops for half that usually. They won't be top of the line, but they will still be good performers.

Yeah I'm sure my fix is only temporary and that ultimately I will have to get another computer. I mean this is a mid 2012 model so I can't say it didn't last me, but I just really don't have the money to spend on a computer when mine is still functional for my needs. It does sting me when I try to load a webpage and I get beach balled, or I can do a task faster on my phone than my computer(when I try to load a webpage, and while its loading I can go to my phone and get to the same webpage before my computer is even done)

its the entry level model with 4 gigs of ram
so yeah basically anything that isn't simple web browsing runs like crap but I'm not about to throw money at a 6 year old laptop lmao. Actually even web browsing is crap, I slowed down twice just typing and editing this message. I think OS X Sierra is just hard on older devices and of course I was forced to update to it. If I could go back to the OS that came with the system I would. I can't name a single useful feature in the 6 years of updates apple did. --- ... Copied to Clipboard!
