Oh yeah. We're a tightly-knitted bunch. Wasn't always that way due to my older siblings having past problems with our mom and each other but, as if now, everything has been worked out.

I don't even know how to answer this, it's both yes and no. They're the only people in my life, and I love them(even my dad to a small degree). I'm willing to help them with whatever they need. I try to be supportive and helpful, because I care. However, I get none of that in return, and they're also a big part of what's wrong with my life. I keep putting myself in a position to be used by them, then hate myself for being nothing but a tool for them. I need to get away from them, but I don't want to cut them completely out of my life.

I call my mom once a week. I'll talk to my dad when I visit them about once a month. I have three older brothers that we will group text (there are times we will go weeks without communicating but then times where we are going back and forth for days on end). I still have the big brother mentality with my younger sisters (even if they are in their late 20s and mid 30s) so I'll contact them often to see how they are doing and see if there is anything they need help with .

My big brother and I were really close growing up. Hed make me play games with him and I wouldnt tellnpeople st school because I was embarrassed that I had fun with video games.

My mom got mad at me more than anyone else while I was growing up but were close and shes the only person I can really talk to about anything

My dad and I are close too! Hed take me out to dinner or something alone once in a while so we could hang out just us because its when I feel closest with people ^^ but hes harder to talk to when Im at college because he is pragmatic and if I dont have a reason or a thing to talk about then its kinda like well whyd you call...? Idk

My mom wants to be so close she may as well be inside my skin, but I hold her away as much as I can manage. She's not healthy for me.

My dad has been on and off estranged from me most of my life, but we're occasionally speaking now.

I might be close to my grandma under other circumstances, but it's just too much dealing with the constant drama she has going on all the time.

My uncles are dumpster fires.

My cousins are practically my siblings, but I only talk to two of them right now, barely.

Family has never been a positive experience for me.

I'm close with my dad and brother but have drifted apart a bit from my sister thus in turn my Niece and Nephews too despite them living across the street from me. As for my mums side? Well she as good as dead to me so no.

My father is dead, and I only talk to my mother infrequently.

I'm on my little sister's Christmas Card list, but otherwise I don't have any contact with her.

My big sister and I were very close, but had a falling out a few years back, and we're not going to speak until she accepts that there isn't plenty of blame to go around: she owes me several apologies, and I don't even owe it to her to accept them.

It was weird because he made me do lots of guy stuffs. I watched dragon ball just cuz I wasnt jealous how he and my dad talked about it.

Only person who lived with me that I am not close with was my grandma. But thats because when I was younger shed be pretty mean, mostly just hitting and hurting me on my belly or wherever since I wore lots of dresses.
Then as I got older shed make comments about how any guy who would date me would be a pedophile and I couldnt trust them with my kids, or thst theyd only date me because Im s weak easy target and stuff like that
And said that the only skill people will really listen to me for is how I look and they wont csre about much else. (This is kinda true in many ways)
So we just didnt always get along because that

Yes, very. I went abroad to pursue a master's degree a few years ago and couldn't bear being away from my parents, so I dropped the masters and came back.

I always jokingly blame them for me and my sister not being able to live in another country (also, my dad used to put on The Number of the beast by Iron Maiden as a lullaby. I'm thankful I inherited his taste in music).

As for my sister, since we're practically the same age, we're extremely close. A bit less these last few years, but nothing major, we still text each other almost every day.

Very close. My parents and my siblings are people I consider my best of friends. We get along well and have plenty of common interests. We laugh at the same jokes, love to reminisce during movies and play old fames we used to together when we were younger.

My mum and dad are only 18 and 19 years older than I am so there isn't a lot of gap. My siblings and I are all adults now and we hang out at very chance we can.

I probably talk to my dad once every couple of weeks, and my mom once a month. I may talk to my mom more now that she is going into a nursing home (In other words, she will be closer), but I doubt I will be visiting as long.

It is sad to see that. Everyone has different life stories and for some people thats the norm! Some of my irl friends are confused thst Ill speak with my mom about basically anything or that she will make weird requests of me (like getting s dog that I recently made a topic about) stuff like that. To me its been normal (even my cousins have similar experiences with that stuff!)

I talk to my mom about a lot, too. I feel like when i haven't talked to someone on my family for a few days that something is wrong... I feel sad that so many people are so disconnected from the people they should be closest to. But I guess it can't be helped in certain situations...

Yea but your grandma sounds like a disney villain, just more crude. I would have sworn her off and let her rot. But that's just me. . .XD I guess that's the thing about family, you're stuck with them against your choice a lot of the time especially as a kid. MAN I'm glad I'm an adult. There's some stuff about childhood I miss, but I wouldn't go back. Hopefully your grandma is on the other side of the country or something.

I haven't seen or spoken to my dad since I was 17, so that is 17 years ago. And I have barely seen/spoken my mom since I moved out 10 years ago, haven't had contact with her at all the last 3 years.

The funny thing is that from my point of view people who are close with loving, supportive families are weird. I can't picture growing up like that. I can't imagine how different my personality and life would be if I had had something like that.

When you're from a Jerry Springer family with loads of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse... The other side seems an eternity away.

Most families I see(which is what I consider normal), are in between. Not a sitcom family where everyone loves everyone all the time and can't be away from each other for too long. But enough that we don't hate each other or not talk for years or something.
