I was delivering some pizzas for a friend's thing (I haven't bought a LC pizza in years), and the workers are just, super-busy dealing with this super fat lady in the drive-thru (lol), so I just kinda hang out at the counter.

Mrs. DevsBro was waiting in the car with the window down, so we actually got two perspectives on this for a more complete story, for which I am very grateful because this was pretty good stuff.

This middle-aged woman gets out of her car carrying a pizza box and heads inside speaking to herself loudly enough that Mrs. DevsBro can hear her, saying things like "They think they can rip ME off" and whatnot. She has a pretty heavy country accent..

So she gets inside and this woman puts the pizza on the counter, and she's so mad that not a lot of what she says actually makes sense, but here goes:

She starts by saying, "I just want to know," and pauses, then opens the box and points at the crust and starts over. "When I say I woant a pizza," then she starts over again: "I mean, look at this!"

The poor girl behind the counter, who honestly couldn't have been more than 14 (and looked a lot younger) looks, and I look too and honestly neither of us can see the problem, lol.

So she goes back and picks up where she started with attempt #2: "I woant it to go all the way to the end with the... mozzerella!"

And I mean, sure, you want like a half inch of crust at the end and this was probably 3/4 of an inch. So ok, I get the problem now. I just about needed a microscope to see it but I suppose it's a legit concern. But I mean it's not the problem, it's the way you handle it.

"Take pride in y'work! I woant anuther one!"

So this poor girl pulls out another pizza box, and while she's doing that, the angry woman looks at me and says "Kids." And I'm thinking did you just not even notice that you totally cut in front of me in line? Why would I side with you? I really wanted to do my best falsetto and say "doan't that jest beat aww y'ever seen?" but I decided to just smile.

So the pizza hits the counter and she opens up the box. Same problem. "Who's been makin these? Take pride in y'work! You might do that to someone else but you're not doin it to me!" The employee kinda looks down and says "I'm sorry about that, ma'am."

By now this fat chick with a LC uniform on has waddled out of the back, and I'm thinking "oh ok, here's the manager to formally apologize." But, to my amazement, that's actually not who she is and not what she has in mind, either.

"I've been making these, and I do have pride in my work."

If they weren't staring each other down so hard for those couple seconds they might have noticed me failing to keep a straight face over to the side. Again I want to say something: "Look, if this lady gets off on being a bitch at Little Caesar's, she's clearly got nothing going on. Just let her be mad." But again I keep quiet.

So after the tumbleweed rolls by, the girl comes back with a third pizza and opens it on the counter. "There, that's better" says the customer. "Learn to take pride in y'work!" And she leaves without another word. The fat chick wordlessly makes her way back to the pod, or whoever else is back there, and I proceed to tell the young one that I'm here to pick up an order. I made sure to be extra nice.

Mrs. DevsBro could again hear her talking to herself on the way out too, lol. Ever since we have been jokingly telling each other "take pride in y'work."

I stopped reading about halfway just to ask: Why are all the instances if "want" said by the lady misspelled as "woant" or "waont"? Is this supposed to be a jab at the way she pronounced it? Or is this on your side?

The way she pronounced it.

With a long 'O' as in "goat." Pretty common country mispronunciation.

If there was an "ao" in there, that was a mistake, so let me fix that.
