I've often thought about forgetting about everything and moving off to become a monk.
I have no explanation for it-- I live a perfectly happy life by most standards. I'm married to a beautiful lady, have a great paying programmer job for a Forbes 500 company, and no kids yet while I work to enjoy the moment and pay off my debt while I save up for a house. I do whatever the hell I want on weekends and enjoy life. Sometimes I get majorly depressed at the thought of living inside a matrix or as a slave race, and it probably drives my wife nuts even though she knows I'd never do anything to lose her trust. I've been open about it and she gets it. People who invent free energy and create cures get assassinated. It's sad. I don't hate humans, but I hate that overall we are abused and misled. Those who destroy knowledge for self gain are the scum of the earth. Edit: obviously I'd never act on the moving off to become a monk bit. That would be an incredibly selfish act. Never by choice, but I live in a state where there's a lot of homeless villages by the freeways so I have thought about it.

Not "homeless" as such, but if nothing else worked out for me I'd certainly consider just wandering the earth.

Only in the sense that do make a liveable wage by just asking for money. I need to figure out how to make that a career and pay taxes :p
