I have work boots that were $250, but they're good quality and I've had them for 12 years... I also paid about $160 (after exchange rate) for some knee-high Doc Martens when I was in England.

The last time I had sneakers worth over $60 was when I was in high school. They aren't worth it to me anymore. I just don't care.

Oh definitely yes. But I won't spend 1k for a pair of shoes. And there are those ridiculously priced ones from supposedly high-end brands that look absolutely ridiculous as their price tags.

I have. I dont think $50 per shoe is a big deal. You get what you pay for.

If you keep buying cheap shoes, you're gonna spend more over time than a better quality, more expensive pair.

I've had the same $20 pair of shoes for about 14 years. *Kanye shrug*

Probably not. The most I'd spend is 20. They don't last long enough for me to spend more.

They don't last long because you're buying cheap shit. Get some quality shoes and they will last much longer.

Even since I no longer get special orthopaedic shoes, I do not think I have ever get normal shoes below 100. I still have some issues for which I need kinda fancy shoes, just no longer a need to get orthopaedic ones from a specialist.

Sturdy heels and soles and the ability to take out the inner soles, that combination rarely comes cheap.

Honestly, I've gotten $60-90 shoes before, and they don't really seem to last any longer than the cheap shoes I usually get. I'm sure price makes a bigger difference for fancy dress shoes or sturdy work boots, but for regular "wear around" shoes, cheaper is best.

For hiking boots and dress shoes that I expect to last for a few years, yes. For something like running shoes that will probably wear out within a year, no.

Shoes cost less than $100? Must be nice living anywhere outside of Canada.

Why would shoes be so expensive on Canada? Extra padding for the cold?

I don't know what he's talking about. Most shoes are under $100 CAD.

I wear higher-end Adidas shoes. Obviously if you shop at WalMart you're going to pay $20, and get the equivalent of that in quality.

I wouldn't say most. You're looking at $80-90 at least for a decent pair of runners/trainers at Sportchek or something. If you go somewhere like Payless then yeah, but you're really getting what you pay for at those places.

Maybe, if they were like good steel-toe workmans boots or military-grade boots.

Don't trust anything that says "Military Grade", military grade is lowest bidder and the quality of it sucks, it's mostly a buzzword to draw people in. (I'm in the military)

My opinion of over $100 shoes, I have 2 pairs of running shoes, 1 pair cost over $100, the other only cost about $20. I bought the good pair and broke them in for events or pt tests as they can actually help you save a lot of time over worn out shoes (I've tested myself and on the 2 mile run they can make over a 1 minute difference for me, I am not a PT stud), I use the cheap pair for my casual everyday life or training, as I'll replace them more frequently and can't guarantee that they'll be in good condition when I am getting tested. Other than that, for work boots I've spent over $100 on them, but that's also because I need them to do their job right, I can't afford to have my toes sliced off because they use cheap metal.

If it's over $60 (a price of a video game), it's too expensive IMO. Does that stop me from buying one? I guess technically no, not if my shoes are falling apart.

Just the other day (on Tuesday), I went to Kohl's to buy shoes. Two pairs of sneakers, $45 each down from $70. Good enough.

I don't think I've bought any shoes recently that cost less than $100. It's very hard to find reasonable quality, comfortable shoes for less than that here.

Never. I don't care if they're air jordans, skateboarding shoes like globe, elaborate dress shoes or hiking boots. I can't imagine spending over $60 for a pair of shoes if that.
