Russian?

From one of the developers (http://steamcommunity.com/app/303310/discussions/0/364041776197853583/):

It's [the OST in general] almost all in Portuguese, with a little bit of French and Latin in a couple songs.

So probably Portuguese, though I don't know for this song specifically.

I was guessing Latin and French too!

I didn't know of any other media aside from NieR that used a mix of different languages. Neat.

Nothing But Theory
Rivers in the Desert
Mission 3

Nothing but Theory is entertaining but also a little obnoxious. Maybe there's a full version that elaborates more but this spends a lot of time circling around the stuff it establishes in the first sixteen bars. The parts that diverge from it-- like in 0:18-- are probably my favourite parts of the track.

Cheap treasure opens as potentially catchy, if pretty plain, chiptune, and then progresses swiftly towards muddily-mixed electric guitar backed by orchestral synths-- one of the least interesting instrumentation choices for a jrpg track that can exist. The melody it spins can't really carry it, either.

Cicio's remarkably sparse production and mixing, unusual vocals, and the somewhat awkward way it proceeds-- including tempo changes and pauses that don't quite feel organic-- make me curious about its context within a game I'm already curious about. As a solitary listening experience though I don't find it terribly engaging.

Rivers in the Desert is fun and catchy enough but also kinda cheesy. It moves away from the style that Persona 5 uses in a way that's actually not particularly interesting to me.

Mission 3 grates on me a bit by the time it's finished with its remarkably lengthy playing time. Its relentlessly peppy feel and cheerfully repeating figures, reasonably enjoyable at first, get a bit tiresome. This feels like something that belongs almost strictly in the background-- of a mobile game, or a 1-minute ad spot for fruit juice.

Giant's Cry's melody, combined with its sound design, makes me think of karaoke backing tracks for 80s Korean songs. Is this necessarily a bad thing? I dunno.

Looks like I'm still the only one who voted Terra in the poll.
