Man, that guitar riff. This is very close to like a western style song imo, which does benefit it greatly here. Like even the engrish vocals are actually not that bad in terms of like understanding them. Like I mean one of my favorite songs if Reach out to the Truth from persona 4 and I have no fucking clue what they are saying. This song has one of the best overall choruses on the entire list. It has like this solemn energy to it. You can almost sense a type of conflict within the song itself that is supposed to reflect the piece. This is a terrific song from the instrumentals all the way to the breakdown at the end.

So like obviously I dont even need to listen to this song. But I did. This is probably the song I was closest to saying you just cant nominate this one, I have a really hard time rating this fairly because even Im bound to some level of nostalgia and favoritism to this song. But like even if that didnt exist this song is great. Take other dubbed songs like the one piece OP or YGO. Like the YGO one is only used in memes and the one piece one is awful. Or like even future pokemon OPs, which are not as good (although I admit a number of them would probably rank well on this list). I mean the lyrics are incredibly cheesy but the entire arrangement is awesome. Jason Paige is great. Like if it was not a pokemon song this could just be a good rock track. But it's Pokemon

I made a list of like 10 of my favorite openings in the past 5 years and this was on it. Pretty much among the most impressive things are that the vocals are pretty incredible here. Like the main guy just infuses so much energy into the track. The entire instrumental ensemble is great too. Amazing solo. In terms of like just feeling epic there are few songs within anime that can really challenge it.

This was really good. The vocals are great and I think the instrumental track is one of the best Ive listened to so far on this list. There are some really great things I think it does to fill in stuff with like the beats it takes, like when she does her sharp pauses part of the bass seems purposely off those points to have like a quick emphasis on the part between her vocals. I also really like how they implement a variety of different sounds in the entire song. The overall rhythm of the song is very fun to listen to. This is extremely high quality work.

Asterisk War sure has a great set of songs. Really enjoy the vocals here, lots of energy, great screaming voice too. Her breaks are like timed so well. Like Id go as far to say she has the best voice on this entire list. Just the like level of raw power that goes into everything shes doing but still sounding incredibly refined is absolutely incredible. Instruments are spot on. Probably doesnt do anything like Id say is really out there original or overly cool but this track is is mixed exceptionally well, has a very clean feel despite all the elements they put in, and is just way about average quality in about everything they set out to do. Like pound for pound this is the best track on the list and I dont think it was really close.

Huu-whaaaaat. Wow, I am humbled. Impressed. Nostalgic Rainfall began as a back-up pick for me, I was sure Talking was going to get me into the top ten. I did notice early on the replay value this song had. I'm glad you liked it THAT much. It's a bit embarrassing, but since this ranking started I've been whistling this song non-stop.

even if you didn't know, Flyers is an extremely popular track and on average would be a very safe pick for a song to do well. It's like in other years songs like Tank and God Knows showed up and it's like "these will probably do well" (they did).

2. What do you think about the top songs.
Except for Pokemon (which I guess is like a cheat song in itself), I found it real refreshing. I'm not so much an anime guy as much as I just like to hear different kinds of music so it's been a ride updating my playlist for this year.

3. What song would you say surprised you the most in the rankings.
Well aside from some of my picks which I expected would go out in reverse order, I was really surprised how good Death Parade - Flyers was.

4. What song would you say disappointed you the most in the rankings.
I'm not really a champion for bad songs unless they're something I've outgrown or were just intentionally bad, but I would say some of the 50s deserved lower and some of the bottom ranks deserved a higher boost for being more unique.

5. If you had to guess a top 5 what would they have been.
I would probably just swap out Pokemon for maybe... Hikaru Nara
