This is what I believe.

I'm not saying that anybody is lying about what they saw, but saying it's ghosts or demons or whatever is an incredibly unlikely explanation.

With that said, I absolutely enjoy reading these.

Like I said I'm at peace with my event. If you have any suggestions on what it was I'm all ears.

I have no idea. It could be ghosts or demons, but it could just as easily be thousands of other things we don't know about.

I wasn't trying to be snide. I was really looking for suggestions. I reason it as an elaborate prank by an engineer or something.

I'm not opposed to the ghosts or demons thing and I suppose it's possible about the skinwalkers thing the other user suggested though I don't know anything about them.

It's pretty damn weird though and I'm still never gonna figure out where I went for those few minutes.

But like I said in other posts it didn't bother me after or anything. Just the only event that I haven't been able to explain (aside from the mist/fog one I mentioned too) and I've gone out looking for all the haunted areas here. Go figure the only time I'd find something odd was driving home and when I was at work lol.

I'm definitely not trying to be snide either.

Ghosts/demons are just something made up by people to tell stories and scare others. That's why we use it to explain things. But if we had never heard of the concept of a ghost or demon before, our brains wouldn't jump to that as a conclusion to what we're seeing. It just becomes the "best" explanation we have, but only because the concept pre-exists in our mind, and not because it is in any way more likely than any other sort of phenomenon that can't be explained with humanity's current level of knowledge about the universe.

Well you wouldn't feel that way if you'd had an experience like most of us have. They are real... I've experienced it first hand.
It's very closed minded to just completely shut in down.

one night i was playing with an ouija board in the basement then the next day I was upstairs and heard banging sounds coming from the basement. I threw the ouija board in the trash and took it out to the curb. The next day I woke up and walked into the kitchen and the ouija board was sitting on the table.

I've had quite a bit. The most intriguing to me was when I was 15, we went on a school field trip to Gettysburg PA, a civil war site. That day, I experienced Deja vu 3 times, twice in one single 2 story home. I about recited back the history that the tour group leader spoke about in my head as it happened, and I absolutely never visited that location ever in my life.

I've experienced it 5 times in my life ever, and 3 were on that single day. I felt comfortable, and I felt like I experienced that place before.

My buddy had one too there. No joke he swears when him and two lacrosse buddies got lost wandering around at night a guard led them back to their dorms or whatever they were in while visiting. They all three swear they turned around to thank him and he vanished into a wide open field.

I live outside Gettysburg and that's a really common one, especially around the college. He helps people get home all the time.

Is it a dead solider dressed up in moder day clothing or a modern day guide who died there?

It's a case-to-case thing. Some people have said he's dressed like one of the park rangers that work on the battlefield, other people say they thought he was a reenactor. The only semi-consistent info about his appearance is that he has dirty blonde hair and wears a wide-brimmed hat.

Seems like only the people (of those I know at least) who have done psychedelics at some point in their lives have paranormal experiences. Everyone I know who've never done any of those things have never had any such experiences.

It's practically a 1:1 correlation. This is just from the people I've personally known, though, so not really proof of anything.

I "saw" a shadow person when I was 8 or 9. I still remember it very clearly. As a skeptic I'm doubtful, but my memory is pretty solid (I still remember being held by my mom) and it's very clear in my mind. Up to this day it's the only time I've ever seen something that wasn't actually there.

As a rational person I can accept that it wasn't real, but at the same time the memory is very clear. So I can see how others might have had similar experiences, though based on illusions or tricks of the brain or whatever, and come to the conclusion that it was real, and so I can believe that they at least think they saw something and understand why they take it so seriously.

Yeah, I probably should have clarified that I was talking more about the people who really believe what they saw and have such experiences frequently. Isolated incidences are within the normal range of human experience.

I've told this story on here a few times before. I'm not sure that it counts as supernatural as it has an explanation of sorts. I'll try my best to tell it how i remembered it, but it was around 2004-2006, and i may be getting the less important details wrong by now.

I used to live in a student flat with two others, at that time both girls. They had gone out for their routine weekend bar prowl, but i can't remember what i was doing. Anyway, the house was okay most of the time (and was often busy with people), but kind of a creepy place to be when you're alone. Especially the lounge, we all used to get a weird feeling from the fireplace in the far corner if we walked through the lounge alone, and you had to go through it to get to all the rooms that weren't bedrooms. It always fet like you were being watched.

At some stage i either needed a drink or to use the toilet, so i walked back through the house. Naturally, i got the creeps in the lounge, but as i came out into the kitchen i noticed something moving in the far kitchen window on the side of the house, where the driveway goes alongside the house and to the back of the property. We were cheap and lazy, so we never ended up buying curtains for the kitchen windows.

At first glance i thought it was my own reflection as it was the same height as me, but i quickly realised it was the wrong angle, and it kept moving when i stopped. It moved smoothly as if it didn't bob from taking steps. With the floor being above ground level, if it was outside, it was significantly taller than me (i'm about 6'1). As far as i could tell it was human-shaped - head, shoulders, etc, but aside from that appeared to have NO FEATURES WHATSOEVER. No face, no markings from clothing patterns, not even anything like folds in clothes. It moved around the corner of the kitchen and reappeared in the adjacent kitchen window which faces the back yard, then it moved past the window and out of sight as if to head for the back door. The whole sighting took maybe five to ten seconds, as it moved fairly slowly.

I'd already creeped myself out in the lounge, and seeing that was one step too far for me. IIRC i didn't freak out, i just calmly but quickly turned and walked back to my room, shut the door, kept the lights and music on and the TV going and wouldn't budge from my room. i didn't see or hear anything else strange that night, and i had no intention to.

I don't remember how long it took, but eventually the girls got home. I remember one of them jokingly saying when they saw me that i looked like i'd seen a ghost.

After hearing my explanation, they were a little creeped out too and insisted on making sure the doors were all locked, but the next day one of them had an explanation. A guy she was interested in, and who i had met, was a big fan of plain black hoodies, and regularly went to the back door first as his knocking at the front often went unheard (i didn't know this at the time). He was unusually tall, and she suggested he may have been looking away from me as he rounded the outside of the kitchen, so i would have only seen his hood and in the poor light outside interpreted it as being a featureless shadow. It seemed reasonable, so we all felt better and let it drop.

Later that week, the same guy turned up and we told him about what i'd seen. He listened to the whole story quietly, then told us he was sure he hadn't been around that night.

Yeah, and it works perfectly for the retelling too.

We never did find out what it was. Most likely my already overexcited imagination working in tandem with a trick of the light. But i still remember how it felt to see it.

If you count seeing ufos as a paranormal experience then thats definitely not true. Plenty of those sightings are done by the military. And yeah, some do actually get reported through the grapevine.
