Especially over the last 3 years CE kinda hopped on this political shit storm. Was wondering how our non-Americans view all this. Sick of it yet? Entertaining?

I basically dislike all non-moderate/centrist options in the standard American political realm. SJWs and right-wing Libertarians, in particular, make me want to break things (on their faces).

I consider myself a traditional European conservative (19th century-style constitutional monarchy, bitches!), but everyone assumes that conservative only means US-style, which is something I view as being closer to anarchy than order because of the "small government and lots of guns" boner they have, and I hate those posers as much as the damn hippies on the left do.

I realize I mix primarily with Americans online, so that definition is bound to be something people assume, but it has become a sore spot that I just explode about now because I'm tired of defending or explaining myself. I shouldn't care, but I do because I feel gross at the thought somebody thinks I'm something I despise.

GameFAQs logic: badmouth Hillary = Trump supporter; badmouth Trump = Hillary supporter. Stop.

small government refers to less federal regulation opposing states rights/laws
not "less government in daily lives"

And I do not like that because I'm keen on "greater good" above the individual - states' rights are a macrocosm of the opposite.

Much of it does refer to regulations though, or a lack thereof: economic, environmental, etc. In a broader sense there is a lot of "go unchecked capitalism!" and other self-destructive ideas I hate.

It's all a bit silly. Americans seem to care far more for style than substance and it's full of overblown superficial nonsense and ceremony.

It's like the best reality show ever.
The night when Trump won as by far the best night on the internet ever. I laughed my ass off until like 6am. Liberal breakdown videos were amazing.

But the most puzzling thing for me were the candidates.
More than 300mil Americans and you pick two 70yo old farts out of all those people.
One is completely politically illiterate and a complete moron while the other one comes from a family that's been basically the embodiment of evil all around the world. Countless lives and countries were ruined during their reign and she represents everything bad USA stands for.

The biggest upside of US for me is that it's a land of opportunities. If you're competent, you have a better chance of suceeding than anywhere else, basically. Numerous people made a fortune just because they had the ability and put in the effort.

But then you turn to politics and it's just two fucking parties terrorizing everyone with half a brain.
There's literally no chance of a third option ever succeeding. It's basically two variations of communism.
Republicans are the actual communism, all the downsides of it exposed.
Liberals are communism before it actually happened. Everything looks great on paper, until it doesn't work out and it stays that way.
I personally think that everyone who defends either Trump or Hillary is a complete moron.

The thing that really blows everyone else's minds is why Climate Change is a party line issue. The rest of the world shakes it's head sadly in pity.

The US presidential election is a special reality show that airs once every four years. Every reality show gets a celebrity version at some point.
