Cars and hammers kill more people each year than your so called "assault weapon"

Why do gun nuts think hammers kill more people than guns. Like...where do you guys come up with this shit?

FBI statistics

Also the same statistic says you're more likely to be beaten to death by personal weapons, which is someone's body.

What universe do you get these FBI statistics from? NRA website?

https://ucr.fbi.gov/crime-in-the-u.s/2013/crime-in-the-u.s.-2013/offenses-known-to-law-enforcement/expanded-homicide/

(Add both links together, need to bypass 150 character limit for links)

expanded_homicide_data_table_8_murder_victims_by_weapon_2009-2013.xls

Blunt weapons trail guns and it's not even close. It doesn't even make sense to make this up. How often do you hear of a shooting versus a hammer murder. Like, do you just skip 100 shooting homicides and find one involving a hammer and conclude hammers are more common? Again I ask you, how do you come up with this shit?

The so called "assault weapons" (rifles) that everyone rages against are extremely low on the chart despite politicians using them as a platform, where as handguns unsurprisingly high considering a thug can't hide an AR under his shirt yet almost nobody that loves the idea of banning "assault weapons" actually wants handguns to be banned, despite them being the weapon of choice for your typical armed robber in the bad part of town.

So please, ignore the FBI whenever you whine about assault rifles on the internet.

Wow, owned.

Perhaps if cars weren't used by millions of Americans on a daily basis to make the system go round, and weren't using them way more on average more than their guns then you would have an argument there. Also, cars are not built with the purpose of driving them into someone's body. But go on, continuing to pretend that you didn't absorb what I just said so you can delay the conversation even more and spread this bullshit to other people around the internet.

There are no guns on the civilian market that were built specifically for people to go outside and start randomly murdering people in the masses, they were built as a fuck you to the democrats and politicians that want to take them away simply so they can rule the US with an iron fist.

If they were really such humanitarians, they'd go after cars which are a leading cause of death for minors instead of seeing stupid people that drive them as tax revenue.

Not that I actually support the idea, but it's just so fucking stupid that these so called "humanitarians" are quick to blame guns the second they get an excuse and then ignore the leading causes of death in this country, which getting rid of cars would actually solve quite a bit of the issues from health to accidents.

Holy shit youre serious.

Are you privelaged enough? Work from home? I live in West Virginia. I drive from Morgantown to Fairmont 40 miles every day. If you suggest walking or horseback youre a fucking joke. Youd go after my livelihood, and the livelihood of anyone who needed to get a real job or required medical attention?

Im either getting trolled or.....god I hope its just trolling.

You didn't read my post, because I clearly said at the end I don't actually support the idea of banning cars, I was just pointing out that the lunatics that think a type of firearm that's responsible for maybe 100 deaths in a year is somehow this ultra dangerous killing machine despite the low deaths to ownership ratio, because you're realistically more likely to be struck by lightning than killed with an "assault weapon", given the fact that "assault weapons" are tied in with rifles in general it could be that you're more likely to be killed by lightning.

Yet cars kill a lot more people each year, promote obesity and pollute the air yet you don't see people that rave about those issues complaining because they aren't willing to give up their livelihood, but they're quick to throw others under the bus for some brownie points and an illusion of safety,

Bullets should be taxed per bullet.

Gun owners should register their gun to a government agency similar to how people register their car to the DMV. Also yearly maintenance and safety checks of gun and gun storage should be required.

Gun owners should have to insure their guns and pay monthly like car insurance.

Gun owners should be required to have an annual mental and physical evaluation along with written and physical examinations on safety and usage of each weapon owned.

And even before all that, they should be required to take courses and have hours of training on safety and handling of guns in a secured and supervised location by an expert to even get a license.

Keep your guns, let's do this.

No. Just no.

Why

he doesnt know
i think thats the best answer youll get out of him

i dont know whats wrong with it

it could prevent stuff like that man shooting a pregnant woman by accident while showing off his gun collection a while ago or the facebook live one just a few days ago

Are they actually unaware that people shoot targets with their guns at the range? Or do they know people do, but they pretend otherwise because they think it strengthens their anti-gun arguments somehow? They often say things like "A gun only has one purpose: To kill." The fact that people shoot paper targets for fun immediately disproves that argument.

Better question: why do gun nuts pretend that they go target shooting?

Having your guns taken away isn't going to "ruin millions of people's lives'. You're being more overly dramatic than a 13 year old girl who's best friend talked to the boy she liked.

Canada's firearm system > US. It's really not even a debate (it's not perfect but still infinitely better than what the US has going on). You don't need 100 round magazines, automatic weapons, supressors, etc. There is also nothing wrong with needing a thorough background check and banning people with certain mental illnesses from owning guns.

Exactly. Anybody who has firearms who consider "protection against the government" a reason for having them is too irresponsible to own guns anyways.

There are no responsible gun owners who have that mindset.

True. Anyone who has guns to possibly protect against a "government take over" is clearly unstable and unintelligent, and should not have weapons of any kind.

Felons, the mentally ill, or people so uneducated they feel threatened enough that they should have a say in matters that, again, they have no grasp of.

How many times have they been used as protection from the government? Waco, Texas? The policemen murdered while protecting protestors in 2016?

The plausibility is even a joke. No matter how many arms you stockpile, you are going to lose. Your example Waco is perfect. They had more weapons than any gun nut could even fathom in a wet dream, and they lost to the ATF, the FBI, and the military.

Another funny point is the gun nuts who don't think the military will fire upon them. Bitch please, they'll follower orders faster than they sympathize with your crazy rabble-rousing ass.

Trump a dictator? Lol, in his dreams.

We have a government system that literally prevents that scenario from ever happening, and it works. Trump is effete and inept. The system of checks and balances mostly works. Trump will never, nor will any president, ever have the ability to be a tyrant.
