Medicaid comes out of payroll taxes or from income taxes, both of which anyone receiving a paycheck pays into. when i said "none of the benefits" i should have clarified i meant none of the retirement benefits or any benefit requiring an SSN. sorry. --- Playing: Shadow of the Colossus (PS4) (~);} - Get out the pans, don't just stand there dreamin' - {;(~) ... Giant_Aspirin posted...schools are funded via property taxes the majority of school funding, at least where i live, comes from property taxes. and i already said that anyone receiving a paycheck is paying state/local taxes, plus sales tax via buying goods. what tax is missing? https://www.lincolninst.edu/sites/default/files/pubfiles/future-of-public-school-revenue-policy-brief-lla170704_0.pdf Local governments provided 45 percent of public school funding in 201314, and more than 80 percent came from the property tax. The federal government provided less than 9 percent of the total revenue of public schools, and state governments contributed 46 percen if i get something wrong, please correct me. but just calling me "intellectually lazy" doesn't help the conversation much. edit: i misused the word "majority" up there but it doesn't take away my point. i should have said "much". --- Playing: Shadow of the Colossus (PS4) (~);} - Get out the pans, don't just stand there dreamin' - {;(~) ... the majority of For the 2nd time in this topic, we can concern ourselves with problems that exist outside of the majority sphere. We address and discuss problems bilaterally. You're convincing NO ONE by trying to fiat away problems that exist in the <50% realm. Let me put it in terms you should understand, the majority of police shootings involve white people. I'm with Trump on this. There is a caravan of 1000 people heading towards our border with the purpose of taking advantage of our lax immigration laws which would see them detained then released on American soil where they'd be free to go to a sanctuary state/city and receive social benefits for doing something illegal. To let them flagrantly do this would make the government appear very weak and encourage future incidents like this.

you've obsessed over semantics while ignoring the core of my argument that those people do pay taxes. Okay they pay taxes. Great. It's (illegal immigration) probably a net gain in many or most ways. It's still seemingly and likely that they disproportionately take in benefits, even with the above being true. It's still evident that they compete and drive wages down. Even bringing a net gain to the economy. My sole concern in politics and the economy isn't the net gain. --- "Tolerance of intolerance is cowardice." ~ Ayaan Hirsi Ali ... Copied to Clipboard!
