The laptop is only a few months old, I bought it in October. However, it heats up very quickly under load. There's barely any heat coming from the exhaust; the only heat seems stagnant, like it's just the heatsink next to the exhaust, not that it's actually being pushed out. Natural dissipation, basically.

My CPU is heating up to mid-90s very quickly under frankly not that heavy loads. I have it undervolted by .05V, and I have a cooling pad underneath. Still, it gets extremely hot. However, the fans are not making any noise and there's no movement from the exhaust.

I tried going in to the computer's built-in fan manager app and tried to set the fans to spin up to 100%. No go. I don't know how I would even fix this, argh! Can I order a replacement part? It's a Gigabyte gaming laptop, fwiw, but it seems super easy to open. I can replace thermal paste and clear dust, but that only goes so far.

I knew a guy that had an Alienware gaming laptop and it had the same problem that it got super hot. Fans worked fine too. Fuck gaming laptops

A bottom plate with fans attached will help a lot. Sometimes there's just nothing wrong, just needs more help. You should definitely be able to hear the fan going though.

I mostly use this laptop for school but I'm running multiple VMs at once so it still is under load often. :\

You mean a cooling pad? I have one, admittedly not the highest-quality one but still.
