Yeah I'm actually surprised how little story is actually there. How hard they were pushing this event I was expecting more out of it. Really all we got was Reaper is a murderous asshole but we already knew that.

Keep in mind that Jeff has described Reaper as one of the leaders of Talon now so it makes even less sense.

seriously. don't see why they can't do that and then leave the unlockable stuff related to it for the event if they really have to.

I had forgotten how tedious Uprising is, just because you have to go through the very easy first part where you capture the 3 points before you get to anything difficult.

I was also surprised that "Hard" mode was pretty hard for me and my friend, outside of Custom Heroes. Hard to believe there are two more difficulties above it.

I am undecided as to how I feel about the lore. Several friends keep trying to sell me on it, and all I see is Blizzard being Blizzard (i.e. dripfeeding meaningless bullshit for years at a time to keep people paying for stuff).

Mei has more legendaries than any other hero now. Trader hasn't gotten one in ages. It's crazy.

I suspect now that Reaper has a new young skin Soldier will get another sometime as well. Their young appearances are most of the story at this point, so it's too relevant to keep exclusive to the Origins Edition I think.

Oh yeah Blizz re-recorded all of Reaper's lines so his young skins don't sound like he's wheezing through a mask now.

Apparently the young voice doesn't carry over to the main game, though there's always a chance they could do that in a later patch. Especially since they already recorded the lines.

Still, it's kinda funny hearing Reaper's lines like "I'm back in black" and "You look like you've seen a ghost" with his nerdy "human" voice.

In addition to all of that (though I doubt she made Reaper "more violent") each of the special enemies in Retribution are sporting stolen Overwatch technology. The big tanky guys(forgot their name) have Reinhardt's rocket sled. The assassins have Tracer's blink and recall. And the snipers have Moira's and Reaper's wraith form.

Does Genji say anything story related (i.e. not enemy call outs) in Retribution? I realized I haven't really heard anything from him despite the other 3 being chatterboxes.

Oh, so, let's talk about the current anti-tank meta. With the addition of Brigitte, and the buffs to Mei, it's very apparent that playing tank isn't so hot right now. In fact, I'm seeing even fewer tanks recently than normal. There are too many stunlock abilities in this game. Way too many. Blizz devs have said they hate these kinds of abilities, yet to counter the tank meta they keep adding/buffing abilities that take away control. I think these recent changes and additions took it a bit overboard, and nobody wants to play tank now. Playing Reinhardt or Orisa is just so ineffective against all these anti-control abilities. Brigitte is so broken that you can effectively play her as the off-tank instead of something like D.Va or Zarya, because Brigitte can't fucking die. In a 1v1 Brigitte wins 100% of the time, and a big part of that is her short cooldown on her stunlocks. I don't know how they're possibly going to fix this. Maybe just nerf stunlocks across the board? Increase cooldowns? Reduce stun duration? idk. it sometimes feels like Blizz doesn't even know what they want this game to be. Unless Brigitte is a pre-emptive answer to a future planned hero like how Orisa was for Doomfist? But, idk.
