My first 4 months of 2018 has pretty much been dominated entirely by Dragon Ball FighterZ and Monster Hunter World. I finished the DBZ platinum last month and then I shifted my full focus to this game. This was a great platinum that requires you to do pretty much everything in the game and engage with everything it has to offer. The last Monster Hunter game I played this much was Tri on Wii so it was nice to see how the series had evolved over the past decade since I barely touched any of the handheld games.

After playing through the story you're encouraged to max out your character's equipment to make it as great as it can be then you can embark on the quest to get mini and giant gold crowns on every monster in the game. Thanks to the weekly events 22/28 monsters that require crowns a lot easier than they would normally be, but the elder dragons and black diablos currently have no crown events so I had to do them the old fashioned way of entering investigations and finding the smallest and largest versions of each monster. It is a bit of an RNG grind at the game, but really the entire game is an RNG grind so either youre into that or you're not. I was still having fun all the way to the end.

- Obtain every Mini crown and Giant Gold crown on every monster in the game

I'll probably come back to this game when the PC version releases because that's when all my friends will be getting it. I'm hoping that they'll just patch in crossplay, but if not I"ll just start a new character on PC.

This also served as my substitute for Metal Gear Survive since that obviously didn't turn out great. Once I saw my final GS build would include the dragonking eyepatch it only made sense to try to make my guy look like Big Boss
