I had never even seen a Switch in person before this. I was always curious just how comfortable the controller was, and I finally got a chance to play with one recently. My takeaway?

*long, tired, depressed sigh*

Just...

C'mon, man.

I've been gaming since the original SMB on the NES. I've bought every Nintendo console up to the Wii U. I'm not a Nintendo hater. I love Nintendo. I love their games and their consoles.

It still feels like the Switch is one giant, mass-scale gaslight on me. How can people like this? How can people think this controller is comfortable or acceptable to play games on? It just doesn't make sense to me. It's possibly the most uncomfortable controller I've ever held in my hands.

Feels great to me. Slapped those bad boys into the Joycon grip and never had an issue with either BotW or Splatoon. I did try out my friend's Pro controller the other day, the hubbub and praise is warranted, it does feel comfortable, still unnecessary in my case.

Which controller? The pro controller? One joycon by itself? Both joycons on the console in handheld mode? If one style doesn't feel right, try the others. They give you multiple options for a reason.

I like the switch controllers. Most comfortable way to game, imo, since I can have my hands in any position and it still works.

After getting used to it then buying a pro controller can confirm it isn't very good. The L/R buttons are somehow not intuitive, the sticks are way too sensitive, and the ergonomics are a bit unnatural. Not as uncomfortable as an NES but still.

Are you talking about the switch itself with the joycons attached? Or the pro crontroller.

There are at least 4 different ways to play. Pro controller is my favorite, but I also like using the joycons without the grip.

I know what you mean, the Switch feels... thin? I'm sticking with my Wii U for now, it's actually pretty comfortable to hold and it has BotW, so I'm happy :D

For those asking, I'm talking about whatever that is on the right:

https://www.imore.com/sites/imore.com/files/styles/xlarge_wm_brw/public/field/image/2017/03/switch-vs-ps4-controller.jpg?itok=u3mMUQw7

Look at the button/stick size and layout compared to a more standard controller. It's just all wonky and weird. You can't simply pivot your thumb from the sticks to the buttons, you have to do some weird thumb bending or hand moving maneuver. The shoulder buttons also feel very small and awkward.

I'd recommend using the joy-cons without that thing, honestly. The switch comes with that thing, I think, but I never use it. I tried it for a little bit and didn't like it.

It's called a "Joy-Con Grip" for denotation sake if anyone needed help with that.

Honestly, I can wrap my hands around pretty much anything, although I will grant you a right-hand Joy-Con is pretty lousy Although I'm fine with a Grip right now I think I'll be asking for a Pro for my birthday.

I play my Switch mostly in portable mode, and the joycons on the side work perfectly.
